FA and Football League face fixture meltdown Apr 24 2011 by Dave Kidd, The People THE FA and Football League are facing a fixture meltdown if QPR are hit with a deduction of 10 to 15 points.
An independent commission will rule on the Alejandro Faurlin case on May 6, the day before the final round of Championship matches.
Should Rangers fall out of the top two and into the play-off spots they would have until May 20 to appeal, with both legs of the play-off semi-finals due to be played before that date.
The Football League would then have to decide whether to delay the entire play-off programme until after any appeal, or whether they would force QPR to play in the play-offs, knowing the London club could refuse to take part.
If they keep to the original schedule, Rangers could either have been knocked out in a semi-final or be awaiting a Wembley date on May 30 by the time an appeal is heard.
The third-placed club could also bring legal action if QPR are not hit with a points deduction and bank £90million by winning promotion.

I'm sure the "ITK" will be "guided" as to how to respond to these stories

We'll see even more stories like this when we are promoted after the Hull game and again when we are champions... and then again before May 6. Just selling newspapers.
There will be no points deduction.
Keep the faith!

Only a gang like that could have left a Gianni Paladini in charge of operations. Always judge people by the friends they keep.
Also only a sadistic and dysfunctioal FA could leave this til end of season so it disrupts the entire end of season programs.
This shoiud have and could have done much earlier by pointing screws to qpr if they didnt respond. No, stretch it out, humiliate, make fools of themselves, what a weird bizarre group.
If you tell me there isnt something else behind all this, I wont believe you,

Well the FA have only themselves to blame IF (note the CAPS) it comes to this. They knew about as this as early as Sep last year (if not earlier which is my opinion) and yet have waited until basically the last day of the FL season to make a decision and ruling. Of course QPR will appeal any points deduction - and with our backing and access to legal heads that could, if necessary, take this case as high as possible - so what were the FA thinking to delay the hearing until May?
Take it one step further - what happens if we do appeal (remeber we have until the 20th) then what? Do we get an immediate answer - and if it is not satisfactory then what? Wuill we not be allowed to take it further because the FA said so? I don't think so.
So we now have the nightmare scenario of appealing something while the FA want to get the season over - but who should be playing who? What happens if a couple months later when the whole things is ruled in our favour then what?
If there is a points deduction my guess is that the FA will try and force the play-offs to go a scheduled and then have the "well we can't go back and have the play-offs again" excuse to fall back on.
What happens if it goes in our favour? You can then guarantee that Norwich and / or Cardiff and probably who finsished 7th (Leeds or Leicester) will also appeal. Then what?
All so unnecessary and something that could have been sorted out weeks ago. Then agai when did you hear of the FA using their common sense - if ever?
needless to say I have been following this for weeks now and I been listening to all the comments. On the one side is the view that think we will get away with a fine - and for the moment seem to be the majority. However there is a growing view mainly in the press who think we will get a points deduction - and Dave Jones has clearly joined the cause with his comments (for which he should have been censured) - but with differing views of how many points.
I am certain of the following though; Any points deduction is likely to be fatal (a glance at the the league table will prove that) so QPR will almost certainly appeal any points deduction.
From what I can gather it was Rangers who brought this to the FA's attention - so that might work in our favour.
Any appeal will almost certainly disrupt the FA/FL's plans - and it might be delayed indefinitely depending how far we would take it.
As we get closer to the date more and more people, with their own agenda, will come out reporting or mentioning points deduction - and hoping that it will happen.
This is an unnecessary delay and it should have been resolved much, much earlier. w3yhy would teh FA delay it fo0r so long.
Finally I think enough is enough - Paladini should be fired with immediate effect and told never to come bacl to Loftus Road again in any capacity, as he has brought this on QPR. In addition, Briatore should also be investigated because he must have known about this.

Points against:
A- Weak connectivity. It happened in different season; under different manager.
B- Timing. Making a controversial decision on a season finale's eve? It's just too late.
C- Inconsistency: the Tevez example - no deduction despite it all happening in the same season and the player being the main force behind the club's performance and results.
D- Warnock. Denying an authoritative and respected manager his deserved honours because of THAT? Too harsh.
E- Legal (mess). A high possibility of it all going to court; and general post-season mess.
Overall: Common Sense. It has to prevail under the above mentioned circumstances.
Points for:
A- Nationalism. Paladini, Briatore, Mittals (and Faurlin): these cheating foreign billionaires. That'll teach 'em a lesson!
B- … I don't have a B.

The spread in the People is quite remarkable, some great photos in there, double page coverage and story contradicting the points deduction bollox.
Ain't gonna happen.

A post by Nodge on WATRB - Doesn't make it true, etc. But certainly I pay more credence to Nodge than to some others, especially, Paladinisti spinners Nodge/WATRB - "Without wishing to **** on anyone's chip, I spoke to a guy from the FA yesterday who told me to prepare for the worst. "...They just don't know. Independent commission. Get the impression the FA are extremely nervous as this could really pull them apart. Very messy but they've noone to blame but themselves" www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?p=582066#post582066__________________
