Taking the trophy to schools, etc. Carlisle United Official Site
CIVIC RECEPTION NEXT THURSDAYPosted on: Fri 08 Apr 2011 Carlisle City Council will host a Mayoral Reception at the Civic Centre in Carlisle on Thursday evening [14 APRIL] in recognition of Carlisle United's Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory last Sunday. Greg Abbott and the players will appear on the first floor balcony at the Civic Centre (looking onto Rickergate) at 6.30pm so that fans can show their appreciation and, of course, take a close look at the Trophy. "I think the City and County are proud of what we have achieved and this is a chance for them to recognise that, and to allow us to show the Trophy to what we hope will be a large group of fans." Abbott said. "It will be nice to see the supporters again and to have the silverware with us, and it will also be good to show it to those fans who couldn't make it on Sunday. "We're looking forward to seeing everyone there." The club are currently finalising an itinerary of appearances for the Trophy which will include visits to schools, youth organisations, colleges, businesses and event locations. Keep an eye on the official website for more details - to appear soon. www.carlisleunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10361~2334125,00.html
