Charlton loan for Parrett
11 March 2011
Dean Parrett has joined Charlton Athletic on loan until the end of the season.
The England Under-19 international spent time on loan at Plymouth Argyle earlier in the season, where he made ten appearances, having previously gained league experience at Aldershot. The midfielder made his First Team debut for us in our UEFA Cup Round of 32 first leg tie against Shakhtar Donetsk in February 2009, also appearing in the return leg at White Hart Lane.

Powell on Parrett
Posted on: Fri 11 Mar 2011
Chris Powell has called for new loan signing Dean Parrett to 'stamp his mark' on the Charlton squad.
The Addicks signed the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder on a youth loan until the end of the season on Friday, with the highly-rated youngster going straight into the Charlton squad for Saturday's (3pm) derby date with Brentford.
"He's a player I've been aware of for a few weeks, and I've watched him myself," Powell told the official website. "He's a young player, who's been out to Plymouth Argyle already on loan this season.
"He's a good passer, he's a positive player in that he likes to carry the ball, and he likes to thread people in. He's adding to the squad because we're missing a number of players and we're looking thin.
"Dean's had the experience of going out on loan, so he'll come into the squad and I want him to stamp his mark on it and make an impact. I hope to add more soon."
Charlton are again without several key men for the fixture with Nicky Forster's Bees, with Joe Anyinsah (ankle), Gary Doherty (hamstring), Rob Elliot (hip) and Johnnie Jackson (Achilles) all absent.
Matt Fry is in the reckoning, but Federico Bessone is unlikely to feature, despite playing 90 minutes for the reserves on Wednesday after shaking off a hamstring injury.
"I still think Fede might need a bit more training and it might be a bit early for him to come in," said Powell.
Matt Fry
"Johnnie, Joe, Gary and Rob are all out. They're key players who have played their part this season and it's a shame. So again, we'll have to look upon others and we need them to take their chance now.
"We're on a bad run and we need to arrest the slide. I'm more than happy that the boys that are in there can turn it around for us.
"It's a London derby, so Brentford will bring a few fans and they'll be in good voice. They've lost their last two and they'll be looking to stop their slide. They've got a couple of players who are ex-Charlton in Myles Weston and Charlie MacDonald, if he's fit, and they'll have a point to prove."
He added: "I know Nicky well. They'll be looking at it as a chance, but so will we. We're in good heart. Our fans will be behind us and we need to play like we did in the second half of our last home game against Tranmere. We can put teams on the back foot and I feel we can do that against Brentford."
* Tickets for Saturday's game are on general sale, priced £17.50, £22.50 and £25.50 adults, £13 and £17.50 over 60s and U21s, and £5 U18s.
