Well that's the thing.
You can make money or increase your revenues out of fans forums. They allow you to listen directly with your 'customer' and then tailor your 'product' to their needs therefore making it more desirable and worth more.
However the board instead have shown a grand arrogance towards the fans, even stating that the more financially constrained fans have no rights because they can't afford a more expensive ticket!
Honestly, you couldn't make it up.
Good riddance to bad rubbish I say, bank accounts don't impress me, how you treat your fellow man and fan does.
Hopefully Bhattia will rise up out of this, his hands untied and freed from the obvious constraints that Flabio and Bernie have placed upon him, remember he actually attended a fans meeting and spoke out against the mid-season ticket price rise, only to be overruled by Flabio and told obviously to take more of a back seat and not to engage the fans.
From his statement he does not even want to be seen for a second as considering selling his shares, which is interesting but nothing in his statement welcomes a new prospective owner and leaves the question as to why he doesn't want to buy the 67% and will he be able to work alongside any new owners and in what role. However as he is also part of Amulya it must be good news that he is staying as it offers a small hope that the football club will retain the ground, otherwise what is he doing here?

Thanks Mr. Finney
Might be fascinating if the club's memos, records, email and phone records ever were publicized
As for the takeover: Why now is a question in the midst of a vital season...Whatever get now, surely if we win promotion, will be that much more valuable
Why did Ecclestone bother just a few months ago to buy Briatore's shares

It could of course be that QPR were approached about selling up by potential buyers and that the club did not send not send out signals that they were willing to sell though I doubt that this was the situation
The Mittals press releases and the wording in particular are very interesting and I would not be surprised if the new bidders consist of their close contacts
If the club have made noises that they were willing to sell now then that I agree is very strange timing indeed

I see this was posted on QPR1st a couple days ago on Wednesday (before the Club Statement)
QPR1st Takeover bid: Put Stability First! Wednesday, 02 March 2011 11:20
The Club has informed the Supporters Trust that it is not prepared at this stage to comment on claims in a national newspaper that QPR has entered into takeover talks with a group of American and Asian businessmen. It would not be a surprise if our current league postion has made us a more attractive investment but we would urge both current and potential new owners to appreciate that the foundation of that success has been stability and consistency. The last thing the Club needs at this critical stage is major upheavals or disruption. This is in no ones interest, least of all the players and the fans. "

What strange chaps they are.
They could say nothing. And the speculation would continue without any input from them.
But they haven't. Quite the contrary. Their statement consists of nothing BUT speculation. Talking about the deal, without either confirming or denying that it is taking place.
Thus adding to the speculation themselves and keeping the topic bubbling merrily along.
Nor does there seem to be much concern about the potential disruption to THE CLUB because they are doing the deal. Only any problems that might arise for THEM if anyone else TALKS about it.

Ah, but surely it's what they are not saying that is of the greatest interest?

Yes, it is, mark. We're becoming better at reading between the lines. But then, we've had so much practice.

I think the reason they are selling now is clear to get the money simple as that.
The one thing i do not get is the role of Mittal and his son in law, it is almost on par when Thompson was gave his job to learn his business skills and in the process made a right arse of it. The Mittal family could take over Queen's Park Rangers and out spend Man City let the season ticket holders in for free (not saying they should) and still make money such is their business skills and investment power. If Mr Bhatia is so hands on and i think he has worked hard in some ways then why do they did to have others come in and take on the club why not pay off Flavio with his share of the loan buy the shares and take the club on.
I just find it odd reading his statement and then not seeing them take full control maybe i am missing something?

they sent them signals out before christmas.
I guess that is why they cleared the decks on the holding company last week when they got rid of some directors.

Well Mittal attended his first game of the season yesterday.
What shall we read into that one then?
Did you see the other one with his box of Kingfisher?

Just a guess like.

One would think, if he wanted to buy the Ecclestone shares, he would be able to do so.
Flashback (not from yesterday)

Well we all know that Mr Mittal is a hard nosed businessman, but let's hope that even he was affected by the atmosphere and emotion at H/Q yesterday.
Please God he wags his finger at Amit and says, 'Ok then, the Family will line up behind you again, you've got one last chance, don't let us down.'
Failing that, Amit's wife could go and visit her dad, and TELL him to back Amit. You can be the richest man in the world, but when a daughter goes to work on her dad, there can be only one winner.

Indeed Zico, the cost of her wedding would clear our debt.
That's a perspective for Mr Mittal to engage.

The point to me is it matters not how rich or how high profile the person is it is if they undertand the culture and want to work with the fans and respect the fans.
rich men and woman will always come into the club stay and move on it is the fans that are always the ones that are loyal.

So WHY was Lakshmi Mittal at QPR yesterday? Has to be a reason: Was it to say goodbye? Was it to say Hello? Was it to make a final decision?

no way would bill gates get involved in football, i don't think, he has the bill gates foundation which is in the process of giving billions away to charitys and so forth, spending millions on football would go against his beliefs now, but you should never say never, but i can't see it myself, but who ever comes in i hope part of the deal includes paying off those loans, as that is a monkey we really could do with getting off our back.

I am not in the know at all i know some people close to Bernie and also others that know what is going on at the club. I would never talk to anyone who worked at the club as that would put them at risk and also not a good move for all.
I think you can can for sure that i have no links with Gianni at all only that when i post the truth of his time running the club he gets very busy calling people up. We are about as close as North and South Korea.
I only post up the odd thing as i say not in the know at all.
