Speaking of... And Rowan Vine talking... QPR striker lifts the lid on Brentford exit Feb 11 2011 By Jacob Murtagh /Hounslow Chronicle ROWAN Vine admits he was left bemused by his loan spell at Brentford. The QPR striker, who could line up against the Bees for MK Dons tomorrow, failed to make an appearance during his temporary stay at Griffin Park during December, and returned to Loftus Road after just a fortnight. He rejected claims by former Bees boss Andy Scott that his spell was cut short because of a calf injury, and insists he was always fit enough to feature for the first team. He said: "I came in with good intentions and was disappointed not to be involved. "It was strange. After being there for two weeks I didn't think I was going to be thrown in. "I wasn't injured – in fact I didn't miss training once while I was there. "But in the end it was made clear I wasn't going to be considered for selection, and my loan was up on January 4 anyway, so it was a no-brainer going back to QPR." Scott blamed the frontman's poor fitness levels for his omission from the squad at Southampton in December. But the 28-year-old has hit back at his old manager, who parted company with Brentford earlier this month. He added: "I had some some fitness tests before I signed and the general feel was that I could play some part in games, which I was happy with. "I was puzzled with how things worked out www.hounslowchronicle.co.uk/west-london-sport/west-london-brentford-fc/2011/02/11/qpr-striker-lifts-the-lid-on-brentford-exit-82029-28152469/

No idea how well he played, except he didn't score but at 1-1 Vine is substituted after 68 minutes.

He said: "I'm really enjoying it. I've featured in most of the games and am happy with my performances. Loan Extended till March 14 (We could get him back the Ides of March!) MK Dons Official Site DONS EXTEND VINE LOAN Mon 14 Feb 2011 SMS Sign Up Milton Keynes Dons have today extended the loan of Queens Park Rangers forward Rowan Vine. Rowan joined the Dons initially on a one-month deal from 15th January, but that has now been extended up to and including the 14th March with his new deal ensuring his availability for tomorrow night's clash with Leyton Orient at stadiummk. The 28-year-old former Birmingham City frontman has made a total of six appearances for the Dons since signing from the Loftus Road club, including his first start for Karl Robinson's team on Saturday against Brentford. The extension of Rowan's loan will come as a major boost to the Dons in their push to reach the League 1 play-offs, with the Basingstoke-born forward having shown plenty of ability in a Dons shirt so far, demonstrating why two clubs - Birmingham and QPR - have both spent six-figure sums in the past to secure his services. In the six games he has featured in for the Dons, Robinson's team have won three and drawn two, including victories on the road at Dagenham & Redbridge and Bristol Rovers. www.mkdons.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10420~2293239,00.html
