Ben Kosky/Kilburn Times
Buzsaky back in action for QPRQPR midfielder Akos Buzsaky is set to make his comeback after almost four months out injured in Wednesday’s training ground friendly at Tottenham. Buzsaky tore cartilage in his knee during Rangers’ 0-0 draw at home to Norwich in October and underwent surgery, but is expected to play for at least half an hour at Spurs Lodge. Right-sided midfielder Josh Parker, who has been out for two months with a stress fracture of his left foot, has also been pencilled in to play some part in the friendly. “Akos has rehabbed really well and he’s looking quite good, so that’s a big plus for us,” said QPR assistant manager Mick Jones. “Josh has handled his recovery well. As long as he comes through, we’ll push on from there and he should be available for the rest of the season.” Jones also confirmed that he did not anticipate any further loan departures in the next few days after left-back Gary Borrowdale joined League One side Carlisle United on an initial month’s deal. Borrowdale, who has featured just three times for QPR this season, made his Carlisle debut in Tuesday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy northern final second leg against Huddersfield as the Cumbrians reached Wembley despite a 3-0 defeat on the night. Meanwhile, Rangers’ forward pair Tommy Smith and Heidar Helguson are in line to return to the squad for Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash with Nottingham Forest. Smith limped off with a hamstring strain in Rangers’ 0-0 draw at Hull almost a fortnight ago, while the Icelander suffered a similar injury a few days earlier. But both players are due to train with the rest of the squad later this week and are expected to play some part against Forest, particularly with Hogan Ephraim beginning a three-match suspension following his red card at Reading www.kilburntimes.co.uk/qpr/buzsaky_back_in_action_for_qpr_1_796795

Also Paul Warburton Buzsaky to make first appearance for QPR AKOS Buzsaky will make his first appearance for QPR in nearly four months when he gets a 30-minute run-out in the friendly against Tottenham this afternoon. The Hungarian midfielder has been suffering from a torn cartilage in his knee since he was sidelined after the 0-0 draw against Norwich in October, but is ready to face a strong Spurs team that beat Rs 9-2 in a closed-doors friendly at Chigwell last month. Boss Neil Warnock will also give game time to defensive new signings Danny Shittu and Pascal Chimbonda, as well as a return for midfielder Josh Parker, back from injury. The Rs manager said: "Last time, Harry (Redknapp, boss) reckoned we didn’t have such a strong side. I think this one will be closer – and give some of our lads the kind of match experience they need." www.ealinggazette.co.uk/sport/football-ealing/2011/02/09/buzsaky-to-make-first-appearance-for-qpr-82029-28141785/

Recall he had a big joint mess during our cup tie with Aston Villa? or maybe Man. U.? We got him from Plymouth under Gregory if my memory serves me right. I think that was a reinjury he got during the DeCanio era.

Well wiki is saying he has made 86 apperances for us since October 07, thats only 21.5 games a season which isn't really a great return for someone his age - at least sturridge was well over the hill! (no offence to anyone over 33yrs old!)

True, but Buzz is no spring chicken either. Started playing for Porto where they put him in reserves in early nineties..
Had most of his injuries since coming to QPR, and then the recurrences. His worst injury could have been mental when
Jim Magilton was about to knock his block off until rescued by Dave, and then fled into the bog, and last seen running
around Vicarage Road. Ah memories!?

QPR Official Site BUZSAKY BACK, AS R'S SINK SPURS Posted on: Wed 09 Feb 2011 Akos Buzsaky played 45 minutes on his comeback from a knee injury, as Hogan Ephraim's double helped QPR Reserves clinch a 2-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur. Ephraim scored two goals in ten second half minutes to put the R's second string in control, before Alex Pritchard bagged a consolation for Spurs in the closing stages. However, it was Buzsaky's return that left the on-watching Neil Warnock in buoyant mood at the full-time whistle. "It was great to see Akos out there again," he told www.qpr.co.uk. "The same goes for Josh Parker too, who has been sidelined for a while. "Obviously Akos has still got a long way to go fitness-wise, but getting 45 minutes under his belt will do him no harm whatsoever. "It was great to be able to shout at him again from the sidelines!" Fitz Hall, Danny Shittu, Pascal Chimbonda and Martin Rowlands all played 90 minutes for the R's and Warnock added: "It was a great work-out. "I couldn't have wished for it to go any better to be honest" www.qpr.co.uk/page/ReserveNews/0,,10373~2289315,00.html

Well done Hogan.
Sad that he seems to be the chosen scapegoat for some on other sites. I know some on here agree with me that Hogan is actually a bloody good player.

H Maybe he was one of those not bought by Gianni? Certainly several of our managers have rated him and played him. Even if been kept out of the team recently by Tommy Smith

Spurs Official SiteWoody plays 90 09 February 2011 Jonathan Woodgate has played his first 90 minutes of football since returning to fitness in a Spurs XI friendly with QPR at Spurs Lodge on Wednesday. It was the defender’s third appearance in training matches since the turn of the year having been out with a groin injury since November 2009. He was also on the first team bench for our Premier League win at Blackburn a week ago. But ‘Woody’ could do little to prevent a young Spurs side slipping to a 2-1 defeat against an experienced R’s outfit. The visitors included former Spurs players Radek Cerny and Pascal Chimbonda in their starting XI, along with the likes of Fitz Hall, Dan Shittu, Martin Rowlands, Akos Buszaky and Hogan Ephraim – who hit both their goals. The teams went into half-time with the scores at 0-0 with little by way of chances for either side in the first 45 minutes. But Ephraim broke the deadlock around the hour mark, pouncing on a defensive mix-up and leaving Woodgate in his wake before hitting a low effort that squirmed under Mirko Ranieri. Ten minutes later, the former West Ham trainee had doubled his side’s lead, playing a neat one-two with Antonio Germain before running in on goal and taking it round Ranieri to slot home. We hit a consolation through a well-taken goal by sub Alex Pritchard five minutes before the end, but Ranieri was forced to make another late save before the final whistle blew. No Waiters in Defense this time! PFA Give Me Football Three out – two on the way back for Spurs Spurs - Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King keep Harry Redknapp happy By Dave Smith February 11, 2011 Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart will miss Saturday’s trip to Sunderland but Jonathan Woodgate is in the squad for the Premier League clash. The defender, who has been blighted by groin trouble, played his first 90 minutes of football since November 2009 in Wednesday’s Spurs XI friendly with QPR.Redknapp said: “They’re all struggling at the moment. Luka’s had his appendix operation and has just started jogging so he’s not fit for tomorrow. “Rafa’s got a calf strain and is not fit for tomorrow, and Gareth is coming back slowly from his back injury and is unavailable as well. “Hopefully they won’t be too long. It’s difficult to know [whether they will be fit for Milan] but Sunderland’s a key game for us and I’m only worrying about that.” On Woodgate, Harry continued: “Jonathan’s in the squad tomorrow. He’s had a good week and came through 90 minutes against QPR in a friendly game.
“They sent a decent team, it was a decent test for him, and he came through it fine – so he’s in the squad.”The manager also gave an update on the progress of club captain Ledley King following groin surgery earlier this week. Harry added: “He’s had the op, he’s back here and we’re starting to get him going again. He’s on the running machine today and working in the gym with the fitness coaches. “Hopefully, if his groin gets sorted and we can manage his knee, we’ll have Ledley back in the not-to-distant future.” www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/three-out-two-on-the-way-back-for-spurs
