Being denied by FA...But that would be one of the most pathetic England appointments ever...(And I'm not a Beckham hater)

FA play down prospect of David Beckham becoming England manager after Fabio Capello retires in 2012
The Football Association last night played down suggestions that David Beckham is being sensationally lined up to become the next England manager.
Fabio Capello steps down in 2012 once England's involvement at the European Championships comes to an end (if not before), but debate is already rife over who is most likely to step into the Italian's Gucci shoes.
The FA have already suggested that they intend to replace Capello with an Englishman, with Harry Redknapp, the Tottenham manager, widely regarded as the stand-out candidate having taken Tottenham from the foot of the Premier League and into the last 16 of the Champions League.
There are now suggestions that Beckham could be brought into the national set-up as an assistant to Redknapp, with a long term view to succeeding the 63 year-old.
The FA, however, have been quick to dismiss the speculation. “There are no such talks and we have not discussed any potential succession plan with anyone at this point,” a statement read.
Beckham has already worked with England in a non-playing role, having accepted a backroom position with Capello during this year’s World Cup in South Africa after damaging his Achilles before the tournament began.
Beckham, who made his England debut on 1 September 1996 at the age of 21, has made no secret of his love of playing for the national side.
He described being made captain in November 2000, a position he resigned from six years later, "the greatest honour of my career, fulfilling my childhood dream."
Beckham became the all-time outfield player appearance record holder on 28 March 2009 when he surpassed Bobby Moore's total of 108 caps.
However the 35 year-old, who is currently in negotiations with Redknapp over a loan move from his current club LA Galaxy to Spurs for the next three months, has repeatedly stressed that he has no interest in entering management.
