SUPPORTERS are being encouraged to volunteer at Huish Park to clear ice and snow ahead of Yeovil Town's Boxing Day clash with Brentford.
The Glovers have been without a home game in more than a month, with last Saturday's outing against Carlisle United postponed.
Club officials are hoping fans will come forward to clear the area around the stadium in order to make it safe for the public on Sunday. Volunteers will also be needed on match day from 8am.
Groundsman Tony Fry said: "I have been here eight years now and this is the worst we have had. We have never had so much snow and we have always been able to clear it before games.
"It is a big challenge for us this week. The snow actually protects the pitch so the snow is only a problem outside of the ground, therefore there are greater problems outside, making it safe for spectators.
"We are looking for any volunteers that can give us any time, especially nearer the game."
Fry said keeping frost covers on the pitch for more than a week will not damage the pitch and suggested snow would not be removed from the top until the weekend.
"The frost is the greater problem," he said. "It puts us in a position that if we take the snow off too early that with the temperatures dropping below minus-ten degrees Celsius the ground will start to freeze then.
"We would have another problem there where we would not be able to get it (frost) out of the ground.
"There are no problems with the covers and you can leave them down for days and days, even weeks."

THE dates of Brentford's Johnstone Paints Trophy southern area final fixtures against Exeter City have now been confirmed.
The Bees will host Exeter at Griffin Park in the first leg, also live on Sky television, on Monday, January 17.
They will then travel down to St James' Park three weeks later for the second leg, on Tuesday, February 8.
The two teams will be playing for a place in the Final against the winners of the northern area final, between Carlisle United and Huddersfield Town.
Brentford were due to play Exeter at home in a League One game two days before the home leg, on Saturday, January 15.
However, this has now been moved 24 hours earlier to Friday, January 14, kicking off at 7.45pm.
