Blackburn Official Site Injuries mar Rovers draw Posted on: Sat 18 Dec 2010 Rovers may have dropped points against their bogey side West Ham United, but the injuries sustained during the game may prove more costly.
Jason Roberts limped out during the first half with a hamstring strain, whilst Chris Samba followed him down the tunnel in the second half with an ankle knock.
But it is the knee injury sustained by Phil Jones that will cause the most concern, the England under 21 limping off with suspected knee ligament damage.
On the Jones injury, first team coach Steve Kean told Radio Rovers: "It looks a nasty one, I think that is going to be slightly long term, the doctor is concerned about it.
"He felt the outside of his knee and he knew straight away, he'll see a specialist in the morning and I think it will require an operation and quite a long term injury."
Jason Roberts also faces a spell on the sidelines, but it would seem to be weeks rather than months.
"Jason knew, he felt it right in the middle of the muscle, so that is going to be a few weeks as well.
"Chris felt a little tweak in his ankle, a little twist, so we don't think that is a bad one."
