No Rowan Vine in Brentford Win - Update

If he can't get in the squad, let alone the team, at poxy Brentford then what chance has he got with us? Zilch, obviously, blimey, how much more rapidly can he go downhill

Messageboard seems split about him being there , hopefully if he could get in the team score a few goals they will warm to him! maybe .



Just been speaking to a QPR work colleague and he says that QPR matched Birmingham on the wages front when he signed for them for £1-million. £18,000 a week!!!. He also says he was good when he first signed for them but suffered a nasty injury and never been the same and has lost about 2 yards of pace. Also while out injured he has also bulked up heavily on his upper body down the gym. Warnock wants him out and has been training with Pompey. Also has a bad attitude.

Again this is from a Ra Ra's fan. So believe what you like from that as he also said that QPR are going to win the league.

I obviously have no idea how true this is; but from what I have seen AS and TB have a pretty good track record of handling players with 'bad attitudes'; Charlie Ide and Lionel Ainsworth come to mind.

You could reasonably expect him to want to make a success of this loan if he wants to reignite his career; and I very much hope he does.

I would hope that his interview, inferring that he'd play anywhere to get a game, was indicative of attitude. He's in the last chance saloon for his career, so he needs to show the watching world that he's worth signing up. Regardless of the "lost the dressing room" blx that you read on hear from time-to-time, AS & TB must have been well aware of his track record and believe that he will do a job for them.

Having a "slightly better than Simpson" Championship striker who is probably on a significant wedge (it may even be as much as 50% of what has been touted on here), who we are probably paying very little for, when we have a striker, who has been an occasional key contributor, injured, seems a right bargain to me. My concern is that he may try too hard when he gets the chance.

Heard the same but his attitude didn't cone up. Mate who also supports Rangers said he exceeded expectations when he joined from Brum but hasn't got a look as long term injury

I have seen ALL our stikers miss stone cold sitters so he should fit in well, a slightly better version of Simpson?? well that is an improvement then and in any event it may be that he will be pushing Charlie for a place, who is equaly capable of missing sitters!!! From my perspective a good move for all.

I know fully agree , has a terrible attitude know wonder NW doesnt want this rubbing on our players !
Chances are he wont return to QPR i thought there was supposed to be this deal in August to pay RV off !
Do we just assume would have cost the club to much ?
This saga has gone on for far to long i hate to see players taking the Mickey out of our club .

So it's back to 10,000 pounds a week (or whatever he's earning) going on someone who's not wanted - and limits our ability to bring in others.

Vine's not the first player to get badly injured and not recover what he had. Think Kevin Gallen. But other players adapt, accept they're not what they were. And try and get around what they lost, with something more.

The Mickey or the Money? He's taking both. I was hoping a loan might have helped him find some form and impress Neil. But he cant do that if he is not playing and an attitude wont help him to get picked.

More brighter than our performance on Friday and allegedly Vine's attitude at Brentford. Shame as I have wanted him to rediscover his form and goalscoring enough to impress Neil and get a return to business. But it just is not happening and I am quite disappointed about him.

45 of those being midfielders!

Brentford boss fires warning to QPR striker

ROWAN Vine has been told to sort out his fitness before he even thinks about making the Brentford squad.

The former Bees striker returned from QPR for a second loan spell at Griffin Park almost three weeks ago, but is yet to make his second debut.

But the man who score 13 goals in his first loan spell at Brentford did not even travel with the squad for Saturday's win at Southampton.

Bees boss Andy Scott said: “Rowan is some way off our fitness levels at the moment.

“He is going to have to work even harder than the lads already here to get to their fitness levels.

“And if he doesn't, he won't get in the side, or even on the bench.”

QPR striker Rowan Vine's fitness fight has suffered a setback after he picked up a calf injury.

Brentford boss Andy Scott has told the on-loan frontman, who scored 13 goals during a season-long stint at Griffin Park earlier in his career, that he must get into shape to stand a chance of even making his squad.

Vine has been frozen out of the first-team at Loftus Road by boss Neil Warnock, and will have to wait even longer for his second Bees debut after getting crocked in training.
