Very strange how Vines career has nosedived so much and I wonder if he believed all the headlines once and thought he had made it and that was enough or was it the long injury lay off that seems to have scuppered him as a player?
A mixture of both I reckon

Not a mixture, the injury slaughtered him and he's become bitter, happens to loads of players.
Loan will be a breath of fresh air for him and good luck to him, don't think we'll see him in a Rangers shirt again, time to move on.

Think the injury finished him , not sure about the other ! Never the same unfortunately , just hoping Dexter returns ok in his playing career ! Of course we all felt terrible with the injury for the guy but perhaps just me thought he never had the right attitude of recent months ! Hope he starts scoring goals again , and maybe signs there permanently in Jan. We all know he wont play at qpr again realistically and wish him the best at Brentford. He should be able to get goals in Div 1 ! Moving on would best best for him ,best for the club and fans , im sorry if it offends but i would like him to finally move for good now!

The traditional player goes on loan speaks on that official site...Brentford Official Site
VINE HAPPY TO BE BACK Loan striker Rowan Vine said he felt he was returning to the club where his career properly started and was happy to do so. The striker joined on loan from QPR until January 4 this afternoon and returns to Griffin Park seven years after leaving. Vine played 50 games for Wally Downes' Brentford during a season-long loan in 2002/03, scoring 13 goals in all competitions. "I always say this is where I started my career properly," said the 28-year-old. "It was my first full season where I played a lot of league games. "It was brilliant for me. "We had a small squad but a good squad and we did well - we had a couple of cup runs and were satisfied with our league finish. "Brentford is a result I look for and I have been pleased to see the progress that has been made in the last couple of years. "It looks like a good club from the outside and I can now see for myself. "Hopefully I can add to it." Vine hasn't played a lot of football since breaking his leg in 2008. He missed all of the 2008/09 campaign and had a "stop start" 2009/10 when he underwent two further operations. He spent a month at Hull earlier this season and said he wanted to get out on loan somewhere else. "I have been missing out on games for the past few seasons now," he continued. "I am now fit and it's been an aim of mine to get some games under my belt. "First and foremost I hope I can get on the pitch and everything will be alright after that. "I have been training since pre-season and haven't missed a lot of days, all I need now is matches and I can get back to where I was. "Brentford have been forthcoming and I am happy to be here." He said he was looking forward to training next week and had an eye on playing against Notts County next Saturday. He is enthused by the quality of the squad at Griffin Park "When I've seen Brentford this season they have done well, beaten some big teams in the Carling Cup," he added "The squad looks equipped to compete in the top six and hopefully I can come in and we can continue the recent good results." I imagine if he'd performed at QPR, Warnock would have been happy to have played himVine left out in the cold at QPR
Nov 30 2010 By Jacob Murtagh Ealing GAzette ROWAN Vine insists he has been frozen out of QPR by Neil Warnock. The 28-year-old striker was told he was surplus to requirements by the Rangers boss in the summer, and hasn't trained with the first-team since. Vine was shipped out on loan to Hull for a month, and spent a week training with Portsmouth after the Tigers backed out of a deal to keep him at the KC Stadium. The £18k-a-week hitman last week joined Brentford on loan until January, but was quick to fire a parting shot at Warnock.
Vine said: "He's made it clear I won't be involved in a team situation. I haven't been involved since the summer – even in training.
"I don't feel part of it at all. I've got a lot of friends there and the fans deserve success.
"I'm still think I'm good enough to play for them. I have trained with most of the squad before so ability-wise I know I could do a job. But there's no point crying over spilt milk."www.ealinggazette.co.uk/sport/football-ealing/qpr-ealing/2010/11/30/vine-left-out-in-the-cold-at-qpr-64767-27740956/

well 1 goal in 33 games puts the ball firmly in Rowans court. He scores goals, he gets picked. Ok, enough of the leg excuse, he had parts in 33 games last season. He needs to sort his head and his shit out.
