A host of championship clubs are keeping tabs on Swindon hotshot Charlie Austin.
Strugglers Middlesborough have targeted the striker as the man to fire them away from relegation trouble !
Austin has been a revelation for League One Swindon since arriving from non League Poole Town last year ,scoring 30 goals in sixty appearances.
Having initially signed a deal to the end of last season ,he agreed
a two and-a-half year extension in March.
His form attracted the interest of Millwall in the summer, but three bids were rejected by the Swindon board.
Kenny Jackett is still keen on taking the striker to the New Den
and could launch a fresh bid in January!
But Millwall will face stiff competition from new Boro boss
Tony Mowbray as he lines up a 1.5 m January bid for the star ,in a bid to rejuvenate his misfiring side.
Mowbrays team are currently third bottom of the Championship
and with 17 goals from 18 games, are among the lowest scorers in the League.
Champiomship high -fliers QPR are also keeping tabs on Austin ,but with a long list of strikers , manager Neil Warnock may be forced to sell before he makes a bid !
Rangers attacking unit already has Tommy Smith , Patrick Agyemang ,Rob Hulse ,Jamie Mackie ,Heidar Helguson and Leon Clarke in addition to forward thinking midfielders Adel Taarabt and Martin Rowlands.
They went back to the top of the Championship last night , but they may still swoop for Austin ,who has 11 goals in 16 outings
this season ,to fire them into the Premier League!
Portsmouth ,Nottingham Forest and Burnley are three more Championship sides who are keen on the 21 year old!
