Queens Park Rangers Football Club wishes to respond to rumours linking Argentinian coach Ramon Diaz to the Club.

The Club understands that Ramon Diaz is a known associate of Barnaby Holdings who recently acquired a 10% stake in Queens Park Rangers.

As previously stated, Barnaby Holdings are football people with wide-ranging contacts in the game, both here and abroad.

Whilst the Club acknowledges that the subject of Queens Park Rangers' situation could have been brought up in conversation, at no stage have negotiations taken place between the Club and Mr Diaz regarding managerial or coaching positions at QPR.

Ian Holloway is the Queens Park Rangers manager and the Club wants nothing more than success for both Ian and the team.


QPR WELCOMES DUNGA

WORLD Cup winner Carlos Dunga got his first taste of life at Loftus Road today as he was introduced to the press and presented with his very own Hoops shirt with his name emblazoned across the back.

The sight of him striding across the half way line, shirt in hand, is one that Rangers fans may have only dreamed of.

Of course Dunga's capacity sadly is only that of an investor, so perhaps the dreams of one day having a show boating Brazilian playing in front of the Loft will have to be put on hold for now.

Not that Dunga sees that as any reason not to get passionate about the Hoops, in fact he couldn't be more excited to be on board.

He explained: "I've always had an interest in playing in England and English football and this opportunity arose for me to get involved so I took it.

"My role will be as a figurehead for Barnaby Holdings and I can offer my knowledge of football. I am not here because I am interested in becoming the manager; I am just here to help with my knowledge.

"It's important that everyone brings with them the excitement of this club and focuses on the positives here."

Of course manager Ian Holloway was delighted to be shoulder to shoulder with the world famous 40-year-old.

"People have said I was a player in Dunga's mould but they must be having a laugh. He had all the tricks whereas I left that to other people, I just ran around a lot.

"With him on board we now have eyes and ears all over the world with regards to scouting, we were never able to have that before, but Dunga will be able to tell us of any young talent he's spotted and then I can jump on a plane and check them out."

Chairman Bill Power also spoke about other plans that are in the pipeline for the new man at Loftus Road, revealing: "He has already been talking about his ideas and getting the local children involved with the club."

Ollie, as always, had the last word: "You can see the passion at this football club and that wasn't here when I first joined. We had 51 over paid players, they knew it and the manager knew it.

"Now when I look at what we've achieved I know it's because we've got people at the club who are passionate about it and we need to have more people like that.

"We all know there have been stories in the papers recently, but the only story I see is what's going on right here, and it's a good story."
