Statement From Manager Gary Johnson
Posted on: Sun 31 Oct 2010
Peterborough United boss Gary Johnson has issued the following statement;
'There have been a lot rumours circulating over the weekend about my own future at Peterborough United and I would like to take this opportunity to let everybody know that nothing has changed with regards to my future at the football club.
'I have had discussions with the chairman and Barry Fry over the weekend and although I was disappointed with the performance and the result on Saturday, I am confident we can turn things around from our present form and together we will be announcing the arrival of a loan defender on Monday morning to bolster our squad.
'We were disappointed on Saturday, but there were positives to come out of the day and I would like to give praise to the majority of supporters who were magnificent, turning out in great numbers and continuing to back the team through to the final whistle.
'I am sure all of those supporters will join me in praising goalkeeper Joe Lewis for his performance, he made some terrific saves and deserved his Man of the Match display.
'It is still very early in the season, there is a long way to go and although we have not been happy with the recent displays, we are only a point off second place in the league table and we have time to put things right.
'The chairman and Barry have been very supportive and we are all focussed on Tuesday night's game against Walsall.'
