Uxbridge Gazette - Green return provides double boost after deal for QPR youngster is extended
Oct 13 2010 By Chris Slavin
ADAM Green has targeted next Saturday's FA Cup tie at Poole Town for his return – and that could hand manager Garry Haylock a defensive dilemma.
Hayes & Yeading have extended the loan deal of QPR full-back Lee Brown by a further month after his impressive stay so far at Church Road.
But regular left-back Green aims to be vying to reclaim his spot for the fourth qualifying round tie at Wessex Premier League underdogs Poole after he joined in training with his team-mates for the first time on Monday.
Hayes & Yeading boss Haylock may have to choose between the pair or shift his defence around to accommodate Brown, who can also play at centre-back.
However, Green, one of only two regulars from last season to survive Haylock's close-season cull, is just relieved to be on his way back from a knee ligament injury that has kept him out for over four weeks.
“The last week has been really tough for me as I have been doing a lot of fitness work and building up again,” he said. “But I started kicking a ball again yesterday (Monday) and I joined in with the lads for the first time, though just doing non-contact work.
“I am coming on nicely now and I should be fit for next Saturday. Everyone is pleased with what we have done lately with two wins on the run and the win at Darlington on Saturday was excellent.” ...
