Wrexham cruised to a comfortable victory at The Racecourse with Nat Knight - Percival and Jamie Tolley netting their first goals for The Dragons.
After the home win over Southport last Tuesday Dean Saunders named an unchanged side as Wrexham looked to extend their unbeaten home start to the season to six matches and in truth they dominated throughout against a youthful Histon side.
A fine double save by Chris Maxwell from Sparkes and Mills laid the foundation for Wrexham to take a three goal lead by half time. The Dragons went in front on 10minutes when Andy Mangan, who gave Ben Clarke a torrid first half, crossed for Jamie Tolley to side foot home from 10 yards for his first Wrexham goal.
Skipper Dean Keates added a second on 17 minutes with a superb left foot free kick from 25 yards as Wrexham imposed themselves on the game.
The visitors worked hard to get back in the game and Riza fired an effort wide before the hard working Andy Morrell forced an error from Stutes keeper Joe Welch but just couldn't turn his lob into the net from the edge of the area.
With 8 minutes of the half left some intelligent play from the livewire Mangan saw him beat the offside trap and play in a near post cross which veteran striker Gareth Taylor turned in from close range to give Wrexham a comfortable half time lead.
Half Time: Wrexham 3 Histon 0
The second half failed to rise to the heights of the first as The Dragons looked to ensure they closed out their second home win inside a week. Andy Mangan, still looking for his first goal of the season, worked Welch early in the half but in truth the half started scrappily.
Jamie Tolley went close on 68 minutes after some good work by substitute Adrian Cieslewicz, the midfielder's shot being deflected for a corner. Histon, to their credit kept working hard but were dominated by the quality of the home side and they were restricted to a couple of half chances.
Dean Saunders was able to give some of his senior players an early rest and it was another substitute Nat Knight- Percival who added the fourth when he ghosted in on the far post to slot home a Chris Blackburn cross from close range with 10 minutes left. There was still time for Andy Mangan to force another fine save from Joe Welch before The Dragons left the pitch to a standing ovation as they extended their unbeaten run to 8 games.
