Hi Hoops. I have just come off the phone after a great hour long chat with our greatest legend... Rodney Marsh! He asked me to send you ALL his best wishes, he is in fine form  Rod's new book ' I was born a loose Cannon' is due out very soon. Rod, has assured me that this book contains far more information than 'PRICELESS'. It's less diplomatic and contains far more information about the 'Boy's Of '67' Forgotten idols like- Les Allen, The Morgan twins, Mark Lazarus, Jim Gregory, Alec Stock.... and Rod's dear pal, Bobby Keetch. There is much more about George Best, Wayne Rooney & the current crop of 'STARS'. You will be pleased to hear that the great man himself told me " There is a hell of a lot about QPR in it!" Also, more on ALL Rod's other Clubs, and the sacking from ' Talk Sport' (A show which never recovered , in my opinion!) Rodney gives his views on Jeff Stelling & others, bringing us right up to date! Nothing is skimmed over.... even 'Mad' Frank Fraser is mentioned! (Taking sales away from MY books about MY world... MR MARSH!!!!  ) But seriously, this will be the ULTIMATE RODNEY MARSH book!! In Rodney's own words " It's payback time for some!" I can also add, it's time the undervalued , like Les Allen, Mike Keen & Bobby Keetch .. etc, etc.. are shown why they should be held in far higher esteem than they have been! (Something Rod feels VERY strong about!) Obviously, this book is not just about Rodney, but the Clubs, Players, Managers & Chairman he has know... " With loads of QPR". Thanks Terry. And look forward to reading it. Good to know that a QPR Report Moderator has written a book about QPR  Although have to say it will have to be a truly great book to beat Rodney's first book (and probably the very first football autobiography I read) "Shooting to The Top." (which in its orginal publication had a red cover)  |

Yes mate, I have both versions of that book. But that was written by a young player, still slightly in awe of people. This book is NOW! Opinions on things & people have changed. In 'Shooting To Top' Rod, was a young man looking forward.... a lot different from the man now, looking back and seeing things without the rose tinted specs, it's also updated and more in depth than 'PRICELESS'.... Well Rodney did on this site do a series of responses to questions - about a year+ ago. And we did discuss doing a Q&A...Not sure how would do that. Don't think we could do audio. Maybe if interested...But I'd like a QPR Report focus to be different and deeper!

Folks, I can assure you that Rod finds things like message boards, E-mails, texts .. etc very " Impersonal!" If you have ever e-mailed him, you will know how short his reply's are, compared to how open he is in person or on the phone. I agree, because the more means of communication we have, the less people talk to each other! As a result, you get cold words that are often taken wrongly. I can also tell you that Rod, has NO time for himself at all!!! I spoke to him yesterday, but he took about 5 calls on the other line in that time..  When my MRS did Roy Shaw's web site, we did this and most of the questions were the same ! So, we put a permanent FAQ section, consisting of 20 answers to the most asked questions. Why not try that? I'm happy to help you with it, but don't always read the board. Mac, if I send you my E-mail, you can ask me for any help you need? As for giving away prizes of the book, (don't take this too personally), that you have asked ME to sort out. WHY? what benefits does anyone get except not paying for a book? And who picks the winner? I don't know those in charge of this site! And may I remind you, you have asked me to ask Rod this...... BUT, what support did I get when I wanted a petition for Mike Keen- NONE! What support did I get, when I showed you everything that QPR will be selling come Winter, stuff that WE wanted.... I did that! So how many of you sent mails etc, to the Club backing me up ? I even gave you the E-mails. I'm still in that painful position of NOT knowing WHY I am an outcast, at a Club I have loved since I was about 6! and STILL all that stand's behind me is my shadow!!! So WHY, would I do ANYONE a favour, when you agreed that the Club was wrong, and I got more in that shop than ANY of YOU?  If you support me, bet your life I would support you & fill this board with QPR prizes!! BUT TELL ME WHY I SHOULD? how would you feel if you were in my position, and NOBODY told the Club they are wrong? Are you scared of them? So please, put my response in context, I admit this is a very painful time for me, I don't even know if i'm banned! And I have put a LOT of time & effort to get products in the shop- WE ALL wanted (I even posted asking what you wanted remember?) I stood up & was counted.... WHO BACKED ME UP? ? So, I love this board- BUT I don't owe ANYONE ANYTHING (You may see it, that I deserve a thank you?) I have confirmation of what QPR fan's REALLY are. Oh, there is also the matter that, if Rod gives books to this board only, that's not fair on all the others. It's also not fair on all the Fulham, Man City, Tampa & England boards!!! It's also unfair on the other authors. If we kept it fair, Rod would be in debt to the publisher!!!! I would like to make it clear these are MY thoughts... Folks, Just phoned Rodney. A) The Channel 4 programme begins filming next week. B) Rod, agrees with the FAQ section as permanent on this site (Any other questions not covered, mail me & I will get it answered. C) He sees it unfair that books should be given to one site & one Club when there are tons of sites on QPR alone, that's without the other Clubs. So, he may be loved by this board, but hated by 150 others!!!. It's also unfair on the co-authors & not all REAL fans even have the internet! also, who picks the winners? D) As for being a Moderator, Rod said he talked to someone about this, and asked what he would have to do? the answer was nothing! Rod, does NOT have a clue what a moderator is or does, but agreed his name could be used as a moderator. Now, I was on the phone for about 20 mins , & Rod turned down about 8-9 offers in that time, on the other line, with the words " I just can't do it, i'm snowed under!!!" Filming this Channel 4 show is just one, but takes up ALL of next week!!! Sorry guy's, The man is NOT Carlton Palmer... he is a legend & in constant demand (Especially as he lives in Tampa, and is jumped on when in the UK from every direction!!!!) Guys, you must see & understand that? And from MY point of view , it STILL stings that NOBODY backed me up when I needed them most, if this board got behind me to the Club, like they did on the posts on here, You would deserve a few books and for good reason. I am STILL in that painful place & could do with the help! And if given good reason, like backing us up with things you liked I got in the shop, then being ignored.... WHY??? & mailing the Club, I could justify why this board deserves copies, at the moment, as much as I love this site, I do believe that ONLY action = Change.... hence the QPR crest STILL being on the shirts- STOP MOANING & DO SOMETHING!!! And if any site, is going to have books given away in competition- surely it should be Rod's official site? That's the truth folks, that's something you will ALWAYS get from Rod ...... and Me! Tel, I emailed the club and didn't get a reply. Have to admit, i didn't follow it up.
I have emailed the club on a number of occassions and not got a reply so it was nothing new.
However, I did recently get a reply on an entirely different matter and the recipient was very helpful indeed and ensured i was contacted by the relevant party.
Perhaps i should try again with the person who did respond.
As for prizes, not sure we need them on here but if we did I'm sure we could sort it out somehow.
Did you see my message about the Bowles T shirts? Thanks for the link I got a couple and they seem to not be available any more, cheers for that. ;D

Ah yes, He only deals with the programme & magazine interviews. We were talking about books & ex-players.... until my E-mails were blocked to him as well!! I think it's a total blackout folks, does that sound like a 'CLUB' to you?? Tel Attachments:

That doesn't sound good at all. You've written some interesting stuff there Terry. i'm going to re-read it again to make sure I got it right the first time. As for the club not taking on board your ideas, I got a response from the club regarding a seperate issue, enough to say that the marketing side is on a tight budget and if they can do it for free or very cheap, then an idea might get the go ahead.
I was left with the impression that despite having mega rich owners, they don't really want to spring any more money than necessary regarding off the field actiivities. That is just the impression I got from the e-mail response, which was very polite. I may well be wrong and apologise to the club if indeed I am.
