I have no memory of this: Australian Goalie, Justin Pasfield trained at QPR - I guess under John Gregory. Bosnich at QPR, I do remember!

Rising star ... Justin Pasfield has been impressive for the North Queensland Fury this season, and former Manchester United and Chelsea keeper Mark Bosnich is a fan.

FORMER Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has nominated North Queensland's Justin Pasfield as the man rivalling Michael Theoklitos as the A-League's most impressive goalkeeper - despite Pasfield conceding 10 goals at an average of two a match.
A-League statistics show 25-year-old Pasfield saved 19 shots in the Fury's first five games, an effort that ranked him in third place for saves behind the Heart's Clint Bolton [22] and Adelaide's Eugene Galekovic [21].
''It's true that you don't win anything [in football] without a good goalkeeper,'' Bosnich told The Sun-Herald. ''And it's been pleasing to see there's been some very good goalkeeping performances in the A-League so far this season.

''I think young Justin Pasfield deserves to be singled out for a special mention. Along with Theoklitos, he's been the star this season. Theoklitos has been outstanding since he came back [from Norwich City].
''Eugene Galekovic has maintained the consistency for Adelaide that saw him named goalie of the year for the last two seasons, while Clint Bolton has been good again.''
Bosnich, who represented Australia on 17 occasions and played for Premier League teams Manchester United, Aston Villa and Chelsea, became aware of Pasfield's potential in 2007 when they trained together at Queens Park Rangers after Bosnich was lured out of retirement by former Chelsea teammate Ed de Goey, who was the QPR goalkeeping coach.
Now a commentator for FoxSports, Bosnich has kept a close eye on Pasfield, who was understudy to Bolton at Sydney FC and then Ante Covic at Newcastle before joining North Queensland last season.
''I could see at Queens Park Rangers that he was a player with plenty of talent,'' Bosnich said. ''The trick was to harness that talent and to ensure he got a lot of game time, which he has so far this season. People might ask what Justin needs to do to build upon his great start, but the answer is simple. He does nothing. Justin just has to keep going. If he tries to do something too special, he just might lose what he's got already.''
Bosnich said the challenge for all goalkeepers in the extended A-League was to keep their edge during a long season. ''There's 30 games and then the finals,'' he said. ''Their aim has to be to ensure their team gets into the top six and [then] put together a run of games in the finals.''
The longer season brought with it more challenges for goalkeepers, Bosnich said.
''The key for the goalies is to prepare themselves the best they possibly can every week,'' he said.
