And for a change, not a club-youth directed project - Although the title of the article is a little grating. Maybe this is something QPR could also do - or maybe our facilities are too far away?
Football League - EXTRA TIME FOR OLD TIMERS!
The Extra Time project has kicked off at 12 Football League clubs.
It is designed to encourage retired adults to keep fit and healthy by using club facilities and exercising at local leisure centres.
Bradford City, Charlton Athletic, Colchester United, Huddersfield Town, Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, Plymouth Argyle, Rochdale, Rotherham United, Sc**thorpe United, Swindon Town and Watford are all involved.
Extra Timers can enjoy a range of free activities at each club.
Rochdale offer curling, volleyball, badminton, swimming and tai chi.
Watford open up the Vicarage Road Learning Centre and offer Extra Timers the chance to play carpet bowls, board games and take technology courses.
In Swindon, there is archery, canoeing, horse riding, indoor cricket, golf and table tennis.
Robins' project co-ordinator Justyn McKay said: "Extra Time has proved extremely successful so far.
"It really is a great way for retired supporters to keep active and socialise - many of them have said it's the highlight of their week!"
Football League Trust Regional Manager Dean Grice said: "It's very encouraging to see that Extra Time has been so well received.
"Club Community departments support youngsters across the country, so it's great to see the older generation are now catered for with a nationally recognised project."
