Goal.com Arsenal striker Jay Simpson keen to make Hull City move - agent Youngster hopes to seal Tigers switch... By Matt Monaghan Arsenal youngster Jay Simpson is keen to seal a permanent transfer to Hull City, according to his agent. Simpson, 21, has been made available for transfer this summer after manager Arsene Wenger told him his future lay away from the Emirates. After grabbing 12 goals in 39 Championship appearances on loan at Queens Park Rangers last season, the striker is determined to return to the division with the Tigers. Speaking to the Hull Daily Mail, agent Leon Callender declared his client had been impressed after visiting the club and was eager to sign on the dotted line once a fee had been agreed. He said: "Should the two clubs come to an agreement on a deal, I can't see there being any problem in the deal going through. Jay is very interested in a move to Hull. "He sees Hull as a good Championship club and feels it would be a good move for him. He travelled up to Hull last week for a look around and has spoken to the gaffer. Now it is just down to the clubs to agree a deal." www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2897/championship/2010/08/17/2075165/arsenal-striker-jay-simpson-keen-to-make-hull-city-move

That's a big shame. Would have loved to have seen him backing wearing the hoops.

He should have been signed last season. He has proved his worth and definately one with a decent future. Head in the sand by our tight purse string holders and then you read 4 mill for yet another friggen midfielder. A 3-6-1 formation coming up??

Would have loved Simpson on a permanent deal ! Dont think hull will be in top 6 at end of season ! Walters is a bit more than just a midfielder , can play wing , midfield and upfront ! Hes pretty versatile but a bit similar to Mackie which is strange ! I leave it to NW judgement , admittedly does seem we are going for alot of very versatile players rather than ones that just do a single position but perhaps we are covering all areas for injuries etc. I like walters decent player gives 100 % like Mackie , if we can get Roberts or similar before deadline day i will be a happy bunny ! Dont think we should pay 3-4 million though. But in Warnock we trust !

Supposedly set for Hull (Not too late QPR!) Sounds like a lot less than a million up frontHull Daily Mail HULL CITY: Jay Simpson set for Arsenal switch in time to lead line against Watford
Jay Simpson is expected to sign a permanent deal with the Tigers within the next 24 hours.JAY Simpson is "ready and raring to go" for Hull City and could make his debut against Watford, according to his agent. Simpson is expected to finalise his move from Arsenal to the Tigers within the next 24 hours, signing what is believed to be a three-year contract for what could eventually be a £1m fee.Leon Callender, owner of Straight Ace Sports Management, the company which looks after Simpson, was in discussions with Arsenal yesterday and believed the move was on the verge of completion. And the striker's representative says his client will be happy to lead the line against the Hornets at the KC Stadium on Saturday, if the deal does go through. He told the Mail: "Jay is fit, ready and raring to go. He's played okay in pre-season, scored a few goals and he's been training well every day. "He's looking forward to playing for Hull and he's up for it as soon as the contract is finalised." Tigers' boss Nigel Pearson has been desperate to boost his attacking options since his arrival in late June, with the Enfield-born frontman always on his list of potential targets. City have structured a deal with the Gunners relating to their own league progress and the striker's performances. The 21-year-old spent last season on-loan at QPR and scored 12 goals in 39 games, sparking interest from Leeds and Bristol City for his signature. But Callender says Simpson always favoured a move to Hull, where he will add a much-needed goal threat and more pace to Pearson's frontline. Callender added: "It's just been a matter of the two clubs ironing out the deal, dotting the i's and crossing t's, so to speak. "Hull has always been his number one choice and he can't wait to get started on a new chapter in his career." Currently in Dublin with Arsenal's reserves, Simpson would be prepared to fly back to make his debut this weekend. ACCORDING to a source close to Ross McCormack, the striker is still keen on a permanent switch to the Tigers. But the 23-year-old Scottish international knows any move would hinge on City coming back in with a structured deal following Daniel Cousin's decision to join Larissa. Having turned down a £9,000-a-week contract at Cardiff, City yesterday off-loaded the £18,000-a-week hitman back to the Greek club where he was on-loan last season. www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/sport/HULL-CITY-Jay-ready-lead-Tigers-line/article-2544990-detail/article.html
