QPR beat Millwall 2-1
IN RESERVE: QPR 2, MILLWALL 1

QPR Reserves beat their Millwall counterparts 2-1 at Harlington this afternoon in a behind closed doors friendly, with a pair of trialists on target for Ronnie Jepson's side.
It proved to be a useful work-out for the second string, with strikers Rowan Vine and Alessandro Pellicori both getting 45-minute run-outs.
While the result itself wasn't of prime importance to Jepson, the Reserve Team Manager told www.qpr.co.uk he was pleased with the win, and the attitude of his players.
"It was a useful work-out," he said. "Gary Borrowdale, Viney and Pellicori all played a half, while some of the younger lads got some good experience under their belts.
"It's far better to have games like this than to try and replicate match situations in training. The more fixtures we can get like this, the better it will be for the lads' development and their fitness levels."
With some players unable to get into Neil Warnock's First Team plans at present, the Reserve fixtures provide them with an opportunity to show what they can do, knowing the R's gaffer speaks with Jepson on their individual performance levels.
"There's a good structure in place at the Club, as far as that's concerned," Jepson added. "Mick Jones and Keith Curle were both out there this afternoon, having a look."
"Players like Joe Oastler and Lee Brown have to show the Manager and the Assistant Manager that they are capable of taking the next step.
"We've got matches arranged for the next couple of weeks now against West Ham and Ipswich, leading up to the international break. And we'll have another look at it after that to organise some more.
"It's important that the lads who aren't involved with the First Team have regular matches. There's nothing worse than doing all your pre-season training, and then kicking your heels for three or four weeks.
"That's what happens in the Reserve league sometimes, which is why we chose to come out of it.
"It is far better this way as it allows us to pick and chose when we want to play Reserve games.
"On the flip-side, if we have a lot of suspensions or injuries, we don't have to worry about being unable to fulfil a Reserve fixture."
QPR Reserves: Elvijs Putnins, Gary Borrowdale, Lee Brown, Joe Oastler, Max Ehmer, Romone Rose, Danny Fitzsimmons, Rowan Vine Trialist, Trialist, Trialist.
Substitutes: Alessandro Pellicori, Michael Doughty, Jordan Hibbert
