Now, I have no idea if this is true or not but I just found this on the BBC 606 website............. www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A72253316by Cernyberny (U14345019) 28 July 2010 Rowan Vine has been released, he has not been selected to play tonight, his contract has been paid up (2 years) with regards to signings Orr will be done this week and I've been told there is still more signings to come which hopefully will be before the start of the season. Mr Amit Bhatia has been at the training ground all day and Warnock there now to, which suggests to me that there is business to be done today. By the way Mr Grape was reportedly on £16,000 a week.

Nodge thought he was on 12k, I thought 14k so that's a 2-4k pw saving obviously deducting what's been paid up, if indeed it has been. Was going to Crawley this evening, lift sorted, the lot, sadly cannot go now!

If true, I really don't know what to think. If we have tried to sell him but couldn't get a buyer I suppose it is alright, but I would have hoped he could have gone out on loan, got fitness and sharpness back and become good again. But I guess that is just daydreaming.

Why release him and pay up the remaining amount of his contract? Surely it would make more sense to sell him for a small amount than nothing? I realise we would still have to pay his wages but if we received anything it's better than just letting him go.... unless he has struck a deal to be paid a part of his wages only, the saving of which is more than we could receive in a fee.

Going to be a lot of things look at the dead wood in the squad someone made some huge mistakes and it is going to cost a whole load of money to put right.

If this is true then it will be a negotiation to pay off part of the contract not a deal to pay the whole thing.
With 2 years left at 16k thats approximately £1.6million. If you offered him a £800k to go now and be a free agent so he can sign a deal wherever he likes then he'd probably take it.

Cant say that im overly dissapointed about him going but more saddened that we continually throw cash away likes theres no tommorow ! No1 priority must be stopping these ludicrous 3 and 4 years deas that we used to dish out to average players !!!! ps Wheres orr he must be hiding somewhere ! OH you are orrfull but i like you ! ;D

With the exception being Faurlin whom I think will be a superstar. However, there's still a lot of deadwood at the club and they need weeding out for once and for all. Even if we end up playing a lot of under 18's, I'd rather see some of our "stars" long gone. Hall, you're next!.

Frankly CPR we need to dump our entire striking "force" and start again. Simpson scored more goals than the other 4 did collectively.

Wouldnt exactly call them a striking force at the moment ! If Vine does goes followed dy Dave , Pellicori that will do for me for the time being . Hall will be hanging around for the whole season ! Whats happening with Helguson do you think if NW gets 2 strikers in he will go but if we only get one in may hang on to him for another year ! Borrowdale will stay as back up for Hill , my next door neighbours an addick and reckons he performed well there for a couple months end last season but admittedly in div1 !

Could just imagine him kicking and screaming , and if he goes on a free there goes another bundle of cash ! we might just as well chuck a couple of bucket fulls of fiftys £ on the pitch on matchday and see where the wind blows it ? No bad idea , probably end up in Abramovich s pocket !

BBC..................... news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/q/qpr/8866722.stmRowan Vine in talks to end stay at QPR Vine was a popular figure at QPR before his injury Rowan Vine is discussing a financial settlement with QPR after being told he has no future at the Championship club. The 27-year-old forward, who was signed from Birmingham for £1m in 2008, has struggled to regain his best form since returning from a broken leg last year. "I'll treat him with the respect he's due," said Rangers boss Neil Warnock. "He's a good player and a good pro but I like to be straight with people and I can't see him playing many games for us this season." Meanwhile, Italian striker Allesandro Pellicori is having talks with a number of clubs after also being told he is not in Warnock's plans.
Pellicori, 29, was signed on a three-year contract from Avellino a year ago but was made available in January after failing to impress. And Warnock, who took over as QPR boss in March, believes the player is close to moving on. Vine's expected exit from Loftus Road comes after he was left out of the first-team squad for Rangers' pre-season matches. After establishing himself as a fans' favourite, the former Portsmouth and Luton man suffered a double leg fracture in training and spent a year on the sidelines. His return was much anticipated but he quickly fell out of favour and is now set to relaunch his career elsewhere. "I'll not be having him train with the youth team or anything like that. He's better than that and deserves to be treated properly," added Warnock.

As I went to school with Rowan I will be very sad for him. When he came to the club, he had a swagger about him, the same kind of confidence (some may say arrogance) he showed whilst playing at school. The leg break has changed him - massively and since he has struggled for the confidence which players crave. I hope with his next team he can find it once again, and come back stronger - IMO opinion he is far to good for league one, but maybe a short stay there will do him some good. Good Luck Rowan

I think its a shame, i liked Rowan. Looked a very good player before the injury but it obviously affected him badly. As Eskey said earlier, good luck Rowan

Bump a year...Probably another year's wages for those two, for which we have benefitted Zero, has cost us around another a million pounds.
