Uxbridge 3-6 Wycombe Wanderers

MATT McClure scored four second-half goals as a youthful Wycombe side overcame their Southern League Division One opponents.
A second-half goalfest saw seven goals scored as Wanderers beat Uxbridge 6-3 with a blend of promising young talent and experienced first-team players including Steve Arnold, Chris Westwood, Stuart Green and Ian Westlake.
Blues boss Gary Waddock also handed trials to youngsters Sam Byles (Arsenal), Daniel Bailey (QPR) and Liam Bellemy (Charlton) who had been released.
But it was Northern Ireland U19 international McClure, who signed a pro deal at Adams Park in May, who shone.
Blues went behind on 18 minutes when a horrendous Arnold clearance and Westlake backpass left Sam Kamani to put Uxbridge ahead.
Green levelled from the penalty spot ten minutes later after Dan Fitchett was hauled down in the box by Richard Frape.
But the game exploded into life on 55 minutes when Bailey connected superbly with a 20-yard volley to give Wycombe the lead before a superb solo effort by McClure made it 1-3 on 67 minutes.
The young striker doubled his tally for the night nine minutes later with a wonderful lob over stranded Reds stopper Danny Sonner before Kevin Warner made it 2-4 with a scuffed shot which flew past Arnold and into the back of the net.
The goal of the game came on 84 minutes when Green's sweeping pass was superbly headed down by McClure on the left-touchline and he skipped a number of challenges before coolly slotting the ball in for his hat-trick and 2-5.
A piece of slack defending allowed Uxbridge midfielder Simon Goodrham pick out Darren Crane with a neat cross with the striker heading in for 3-5.
But McClure had the final say and topped off a classy performance when he raced onto a Westlake pass and slot the ball in off the post for 3-6.
BLUES: Arnold, Byles (Smith), Westlake, Bailey, Westwood, Belcher, Green, Bellemy (Graham), McClure, Fitchett, Federico.
Subs (not used): Styles, Scowen, Lloyd, Weemes.
