Apparently "On This Day" in 1965) - Marking really the start of the Jim Gregory/QPR's rise era (even though of course the Promotion double was the following season)...By the end of this 1965/66 season, Rodney Marsh had also joined.

Les Allen(before Rodney Marsh was signed) was the intended replacement goal scorer for Brian Bedford. It sure worked out in that 1965/66 season.

He did of course continue to find the net on a regular basis in 1966/67 but later on became less of a front line striker.

Les had Skill and was wily. A good signing back then for the R's.
