Nothing new I think South London Press Palace boss Burley: I want to keep Ambrose and ClyneMonday, 28 June 2010 By Richard Cawley CRYSTAL Palace boss George Burley says he wants to keep Darren Ambrose and Nathaniel Clyne at Selhurst Park. QPR are chasing Ambrose, who scored 20 goals for the Eagles last season, while Birmingham want England U19 international Clyne. Burley is due to speak to the duo this week and he told the South London Press: “I know Darren well - I brought him through as a kid at Ipswich. These days there is so much speculation and you can get your head turned with the promise of x, y or z. But I want both of them to stay and they are both under contract - that’s in our favour.” Don't miss tomorrow's South London Press for the full story. www.southlondon-today.co.uk/tn/Sport.cfm?id=22865&headline=Palace%20boss%20Burley:%20I%20want%20to%20keep%20Ambrose%20and%20Clyne

What we all knew (without being the recipients of "ITK" leaks) Croydon Advertiser George Burley confirms Clint Hill's Crystal Palace departure to QPR by Daniel Jones CLINT Hill's departure from Crystal Palace has been confirmed by new Eagles boss George Burley. The defender is one of the many Palace stars whose contract expires at the end of the month, he will be officially announced as a Queens Park Rangers player by the end of the week. Burley has spent the first few days of his managerial reign at Palace talking to those out of contract players and Hill confirmed the news to him over the phone. "Clint has told me he has agreed a deal with another club," he said. With captain Shaun Derry, Johannes Ertl, Nick Carle and now Hill all definite departures from last season's squad, Burley's resources are thin on the ground. The former Scotland manager is keen to bolster his options over the next couple of weeks. Palace are not officially allowed to register players with the Football League until they exit administration in around a month's time. But Burley hopes to get the players to commit to the club before that. He is already in talks with several free agents. Defender David Wright is expected to join this week and former Reading and Sheffield United star James Harper is another target, with Burley particularly keen to strengthen midfield. *For all the latest Palace news see Friday's Croydon Advertiser www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/sport/George-Burley-confirms-Clint-Hill-s-Crystal-Palace-exit/article-2356715-detail/article.html
