BBC Gossip Blackpool fans fear manager Ian Holloway could walk out of the club only one month after winning promotion to the Premier League after he rejected the Seasiders' first offer of a new deal. (Daily Mirror) newsvote.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/8760402.stmBlackpool Gazette - Ollie and Pool in contract wrangle 22 June 2010 By William Watt PROGRESS is slow in talks between Blackpool FC and Ian Holloway over a new contract for their promotion-winning manager. Pool boss Holloway and his assistant Steve Thompson have both been negotiating new deals after leading the Seasiders to the Premier League. However, nothing has yet been resolved and internet rumours are rife that Holloway may have walked out. While these are wide of the mark, The Gazette understands that Holloway is becoming frustrated by the lack of progress after meetings in recent weeks. Holloway signed a one-year deal last May, which contained an option of a further year, though chairman Karl Oyston is expected to resolve the situation with a much-improved offer in the coming days. Thompson's current deal runs out at the end of this month as do those of striker Ben Burgess and defender Rob Edwards. The Seasiders presently have only 16 senior players under contract and must confirm a squad of 25 by the end of August under Premier League rules. www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/blackpool-football-club/Ollie-and-Pool-in-contract.6376097.jp

And last week Blackpool Gazette No problems with Holloway's contract Blackpool Gazette 17 June 2010 By William Watt BLACKPOOL boss Ian Holloway is to hold talks over a new Blackpool deal but is not out of contract this summer. National newspaper reports today suggest that Holloway's one-year-deal ran out after the Seasiders' win at Wembley and that he is becoming frustrated about lack of progress in negotiations. However, the 47-year-old's contract included an option of another year and The Gazette understands that he will be offered improved terms in the coming weeks. It is believed that the situation is not one to be worrying the Pool boss and at no point leaves his future in doubt. Pool's wage bill was one of the lowest in the Championship last season and will be a drop in the ocean compared to their Premier League rivals, but are expected to hand Holloway and his assistant Steve Thompson a substantial reward for their good work. www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/blackpool-football-club/No-problems-with-Holloway39s-contract.6368820.jp
