Dens Park manager Gordon Chisholm has released a number of players this month, including defender Jim Lauchlan. The 22-year-old, who had three years at Queens Park Rangers and who made more than 30 appearances for Morton, has joined on a two-year deal. Shimmin said: "They are the best team in the league. It is the best place for me to develop and reach my potential."
