Vaguely recall QPR (almost) charged Derby fans more, but were stopped... Sheffield Telegraph Sheffield Wednesday's away ticket own goal Date: 25 May 2010 SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY have blamed an "administrative error" for over-charging away fans at Hillsborough during the second half of the season.
The Owls have been forced to repay several thousands of pounds after inadvertently breaching Football League rules by reducing the prices of home tickets in mid-season but not the cost of tickets for visiting fans.League rules stipulate that clubs implementing changes to ticket prices after June 30 must also offer the same discounts to away supporters. "This was an administrative oversight that we have since worked closely with the Football League to correct," said an Owls spokesman. "We contacted all of the affected clubs, whose supporters could claim up to a £5 refund, and we were more than happy to co-operate in correcting this error." www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/football/Sheffield-Wednesday39s-away-ticket-own.6317237.jp
