It's disappointing for staff and fans alike to see some of our favourite players leave, but it's about time we started dealing with reality. We're in Division Two, we can't afford to carry on with the number of players we had. "In all honesty we have needed a clearout for a while. It's a very painful process to go through but a very necessary one if we are to build for the future of this club and put it on a sound footing. We have to lay the right foundations on which to build in future seasons. "However, should the club find new owners before the start of the season, a number of players have been told that we would like to renegotiate with them at the earliest possible stage." BBC

LOFTUS ROAD PLC STATEMENT
Following the Loftus Road Plc EGM today at Loftus Road the company released the following press statement this afternoon:
LOFTUS ROAD PLC PRESS RELEASE
The Loftus Road Plc EGM was held today in front of approximately 180 people at Loftus Road Stadium. The EGM was called to approve 4 resolutions put to the shareholders of Loftus Road Plc. All 4 resolutions put before the EGM were passed by a large majority.
The resolutions were;
1. To sell London Wasps to London Wasps Holdings for £2.5 million
2. To sell the Twyford Avenue Training Ground to Chris Wright for £2.5 million
Resolutions 3&4 were procedural resolutions upon the disposal of London Wasps.
During the meeting Chris Wright gave an undertaking to consult with his advisors in order to negotiate a share of any profit arising from any subsequent sale of Twyford Avenue to be returned to the company, or if the two teams are sold separately on an equal basis to Queens Park Rangers and London Wasps.
Commenting on the EGM, Chief Executive David Davies said;
"It was important to pass these resolutions to enable us to introduce new working capital from the proceeds of the sales to keep the club going in the short term, or until a buyer is found for Queens Park Rangers."
"It was good to see a strong turnout of shareholders. We listened to the shareholders' opinions carefully and have taken on board their comments regarding various issues brought up at the meeting. It was a constructive meeting and we were pleased to get some important feedback on the issues surrounding the sale of London Wasps and the Twyford Avenue training ground."
Press release ends
During the meeting two poll votes were called for in respect of resolution 2 and resolution 2 amendment. The results were as follows:
Resolution 2 Amendment

"Provided that if after the date of the EGM there is the grant of any planning consent for uses other than the existing sports ground use which results in an increase in value or proportion thereof accruing to Mr Christopher Wright then the total increase is to be apportioned in such a manner as shall confer a minimum of one third of the total increase to the Company. "
For 269,931 shares
Against 34,175,222 shares

May 24, 2001 - STRIKER SIGNS
QPR have today completed the signing of Leroy Griffiths from Hampton and Richmond Borough.Pacey striker Griffiths, 24, boasts an impressive goalscoring record at non-league level having scored 22 goals in 58 appearances for the Ryman League Premier club. Before joining Hampton and Richmond, he scored 23 goals in 49 games for Ryman Division 3 outfit Corinthian Casuals. He joins QPR for an undisclosed fee. OLLY ON FIRST SUMMER SIGNINGIan Holloway is delighted with the signing of Leroy Griffiths,24, from Ryman League Hampton and Richmond Borough for an undisclosed fee. The R's boss has a fine track record for unearthing players from the non-League level. When Holloway was in charge at Bristol Rovers, he signed Barry Hayles from Stevenage Borough, Nathan Ellington from Walton and Hersham and Dwayne Plummer from Chesham United. He also plucked former Hayes striker Jason Roberts from Wolves reserves. All of those players prospered under Holloway's tutelage. And the boss seems confident that he has found another gem in Griffiths. Holloway said:" I am very excited about this signing. Leroy is someone that our scouting department have been tracking for quite a while. I sent my director of football Gerry Francis down to Hampton to see a game and Gerry felt that this was a very exciting player. "We invited Leroy over for a trail and he did exceptionally well. He is hungry, very strong and very quick. He's an entertainer. The QPR fans do appreciate someone with a bit of flair and a bit of skill. Leroy started off as a young player with Charlton before drifting into the non-League game, so he wants to make a name for himself. "With full-time training everyday, I am sure that Leroy can hopefully improve on what he has got already and excite our supporters. "I like to do my homework and scout around the non-League levels. I've never been scared to take a gamble. It is not where you have come from, but where you want to go. "There are an awful lot of talented players out there who haven't been given the opportunity to play at the professional level. Or maybe they had the chance before and wasted it. I always find that the desire they've got within them makes them a successful player at the end of the day." Griffiths scored 22 goals in 58 appearances for Hampton and Richmond Borough. He previously played for Corinthian Casuals, where he hit the net 23 times in 49 games. OLLY'S TIME TO PLAN
RANGERS boss Ian Holloway has spoken about his plans to rebuild the team at Loftus Road, both on and off the field.Olly said:" There are an awful lot of changes going on at QPR at the moment. But if you ask me, I feel we've needed that. I'm sure the fans will agree. We want to see a new atmosphere around the place. "Everyone is working hard to try to correct the club's financial state and give us a chance to move forward. At the moment, we carry on in administration. "Sometimes you have to bring players in from a lesser standard on not-so-much money who will grasp the opportunity and can still play well and with pride for this football club. Pride in the blue and white hoops is what the supporters here deserve. "You can also bring through the youth team players. If they are good enough, they are old enough. "Hopefully one or two exciting things can be sorted out in the next few weeks. I'm also looking to appoint an assistant manager and some of the staff that I would like to work with. We will then be able to move forward and I am very, very excited about the start of next season."
