Had a great season. Did well. And this award is one I wouldn't mind QPR winning - And if you look at the stats, dirty doesn't equal success; and "clean" doesnt equal failure DONCASTER OFFICIAL SITE ROVERS SCOOP FAIR PLAY AWARD Posted on: Wed 12 May 2010 - by Chris Mortley Doncaster Rovers Football Club have been awarded the Championship Fair Play Award by the Football League. Throughout the course of the season, Doncaster Rovers maintained the best disciplinary record in the league and finished the campaign with only 35 bookings and three red cards in a season which saw Sean O'Driscoll's side finish the term in 12th spot. Commenting on the award, the Doncaster Rovers manager said: "Great credit must go the players for not only being competitive in what is the most demanding of divisions, but by doing it in a fair and respectful way." "At times we feel this does go against us, but we ask that our players try to do the right things in every situation, whether we win lose or draw. That is easy to say, but extremely hard to put into practice." "On behalf of the players we are delighted to accept the award and thank the Football league and the Football Association." Doncaster Rovers Football Club will be guests of the Football Association at Saturday's FA Cup Final at Wembley between Chelsea and Portsmouth, where a representative of the Club will be presented with the Fair Play www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10329~2050745,00.html
