Over the past few years we've made so many signings; and so many of them have moved in and the moved out. The latest being Parejo and Tommasi. Throw in Barker, Nardiello from last season You have to wonder - I certainly do - how much we pay in transfers and signing bonuses and weekly wages - not to mention paying them off. when we "end contract by mutual consent". Throw in agents fees, etc, etc. This From WATRB - List of Signingstherangersboys.proboards54.com/index.cgi?board=rumours&action=display&thread=18920&page=2Buzsacky Vine Cook Gorkss Leighterwood Helgusson Routledge Cerny Connolly Parejo (think you will agree a complete waste of space, but maybe down to Flav) Ramage (i know he's your new hero, but please) Bolder Alberti Rehman Nardiello Ward (wasn't he going to be the next super star) Nygaard Timoska Czerkas (who) Tchakounte (words fail me) Tomassi Di Carmine (think he's going back to Italy) Curtis Milanesse Evatt Doherty Lomas Moore Dean Sturridge (wasn't his agent a friend of GP's who he owed money to (allegedly) ) Paolo Rossi (why) Chris Barker Ugo Ukah

And I posted this on QPR Report Blog in January 2008
The Changing Face of QPR - Much has been made in the press about QPR's "big spending" and signing of some nine or ten players. But QPR have also released a slew of players. Added to the players they released last summer (and the year before), and there's been an ongoing turnover of players at Loftus Road. Among those who have left QPR: Dominic Shimmin, Marc Nygaard, Marcus Bignot, Danny Cullip, Nick Ward, Shabbaz Baidoo, Daniel Nardiello, John Curtiss, Steffan Moore, Pat Kanyuka, Kieron St. Aimie. Also: Loans Ben Sahar, Malcolm, Jarrett and Scott Sinclair have returned to their clubs

Do we have a higher turnover than most CC clubs? I know it sounds like a lot but I expect some of its to do with having so many managers and some of its driven by the clubs new money but I'd love to know the equivalent of another club, say Coventry.

Fair point. It's impressionistic. And I'd be interested to know the answer (if someone wants to do the research!)

Early ones were desperate ones, cheap cheerful, while close to administration and to keep us up. Later under Briatore he obviously wanted an Italian flavor to the team, then with the revolving door gaffers each liked some and disliked others, wanted this not that. The Routledge signing may have been the best so far along with Busz and Vine, those 2 injuries really set the re-build backwards.

Anew formation in offing. Diamond era caput. new formation. The Line. goal pitches to R. back who kicks ito left wing who turns around to kneel before Bries box while passing ball back to anyone he likes. That player fires on net and charges into goal getting red card. Now we are at best playing potential with 10 men. Next member please continue the surprise strategy.

Ok so the ten men form a pyramid remember the dog sled formation? One striker the lead dog and four in a box, square box, one behind, the musher, the last three are defenders and rush to help keeper and create offside traps. I see instant results here.

"THEY COME - THEY GO"
They are coming thick and fast alright we now have about sixteen midfielders in the squad.
The leavers don't seem to be keeping pace with the arrivals. I wouldn't mind QPR signing more if only the new ones were any better than what we've got.
Does the person who picks the transfer targets know anything at all about football. It makes you wonder.

diCanio signed vine buzasky kieran Lee connolly. we only had italian scouts then. gordons last stand was to buy Legs. Cranie came over that summer then broke a leg , unlike acting it doesnt help footer. three broken legs. Busz scored 10 goals in 07,, not replaced, Vine also very good. Thinkk we still only have italian scouts, may be wrong. diCanio wanted Borrowdale Souse didnt. Cerny Gorkss Dowie. but no striker? Brie had his italians bring in a bunch. Dowie not consulted. There werent any more busz or vines around to replace but by now they were spending too much money. then the markets fell, and these deals now are tepid ATTEMPTS AT IMPROVEMENT which fooled nobody except the last one(Routledge) He looks better. Still no striker who is comfortable in front of net and who looks like a threat every time. I remember Ian Rush would lie down in front of net and tickle ball in with feet. Yoi know someone with skills and a burning desire to score. We have an owner who is good at pitching fits, best cuisine, but Im sure my grandmother whom was a Rs fan knew how to run a football club better than Briatore. Back in 2007 Report ran an article by Gerry Francis saying he didnt think an Italian manager nor scouting system could ever really get a grasp of English football, the players, the lower divisions. He was 100% correct.

I'm not sure that "De Canio signed" - And going back to Waddock and Holloway: They had a limited say in which players were signed - since we returned to the Championship (that was diplomatically put!
Let's put it this way: If you put Steve Coppell in charge (or someone of his ilk) And gave him say 10 million pounds + the QPR wage bill as it is now... AND LEFT HIM ALONE to buy and sell within that budget, and pick his team, I believe we'd have achieved success.

Well they came during transfer window when he was here so someone picked well. Hall also, dont know about him. What you are trying to say that these good signings were at behest of someone else in management if you go back to Holloway and Waddock, ok the penny dropped. Yet they were good signings mostly?? But R we aint going to buy a Coppell to run team. But this hodge podge is a real decline as has the play of a lot of our regulars.Do you recall Sousa saying he wants this that and the other to improve the team but if he cant have them he will play with squad he has now. So you know dowie and B used to get into screaming matches look what happenned to him. This is the Good son. Dad I want a new bike. Whats wrong with the old one son looks fine to me.I Its all about money and budgets. Not performance. One day in the future it will have to be or we will stay in lower division for a long time.

There are half a dozen times we could have had Coppell. Certainly not the most flash/or the most glamorous. But does the job time and time again.
I think Gianni Paladini has been known to be involved in the transfer process over the years.
And obviously now Briatore as well.

Well if they dont want to go up because the cost of doing business in the Prem is too much of a risk, which I really cant believe, better sense is they have lost a lot more money or in some other kind of money trouble than they are letting on. Or another possibility, why did they buy QPR, for some other reason that we wont know about;this is a reaching speculation and not meant to cast any aspersions but for whatever reasons we do have a viable football club and thats the bottom line. More viable than tons of clubs in England and Scotland. Also very wealthy clubs quite often never win very much at all. Look at Fulham. Look at Elton John at Watford. tons of mun but they dont spend it on their football clubs enough. I think thats what we have.

They come they go. The real tragedy is what it is doing to the youth set up at the club. All the new signings have to be given a chance to show what they can do and when there is no improvement in the teams performance some more new ones arrive and they have to be played also ad infinitum.
How many home grown players have the club produced in the last ten years? One hand is more than enough to count them on.At the club right now are two young pro's of enormous potential (Angelo Balanta and Danny Maguire) and they are losing out on their opportunities to progress just so that the quick fix can be tried - not with super players but but with others of the same standard we already have at the club.
The players we use at the moment can hardly score a goal. Please help me with my maths - how much worse could it possibly be if we gave our "OWN" a chance.
