TIGER FEET WALK SUCCESSPosted on: Mon 12 Apr 2010 On Saturday morning, 14 walkers set off at 9am from Loftus Road on the sponsored "Tiger Feet" walk to Crystal Palace's Selhurst Park Stadium. The idea for the 11.5 mile walk came about after Chris Charles from BBC Sport wrote his blog and filmed the Tiger Cubs for the BBC Sport website: www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chrischarles/2010/03/doing_it_for_the_kids.htmlWe would like to thank Chris and his colleague James Doe who were the driving force behind this event. qpr.seriousfltrivia.com/click.aspx?affiliateCode=FLqpr&campCode=FLqpr&retUrl=/&promCode=MPUThe group set off in the sunshine, with the aim of making it to Crystal Palace by 2pm. Along the route the walkers went through Shepherds Bush, Fulham Broadway, over Wandsworth bridge, Tooting, Streatham, Norbury and then onto Crystal Palace. On arrival at Selhurst Park, the walkers finished their trek by going onto the pitch to a well deserved round of applause from both sets of fans. Andy Evans, CEO of QPR In The Community Trust, was one of the hardy souls who completed the walk, and he told http://www.qpr.co.uk: "It was the most enjoyable of days. We had perfect weather and a perfect result at the end of the day. "There was a real sense of 'team' amongst the walkers, and that team effort has led to an incredible amount of money being raised. It will be the Tiger Cubs who will see the benefit of everybody's generosity." Money raised to date is £8,300.00. Thanks to all the fans and walkers who obtained sponsorship. Finally, a big thank you to all the walkers: Chris Charles, James Doe, Mark Feldman, Adam Finch, Peter Gough, Dave McIntyre, Stuart Aitken, Ian Stenning, Darren Warkcup, Niamh Richardson, Kevin Mahoney, James O'Flinn, David Papworth and Andy Evans. It's not too late to donate to this great cause, with all proceeds going back to the QPR Tiger Cubs.
