O's Part Company With Manager Williams
LEYTON ORIENT have parted company with manager Geraint Williams following Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Hartlepool United.
The result leaves Orient one point above the League One relegation zone with only one win in their last 11 games.
O's chairman Barry Hearn said: "The peformance against Hartlepool was abysmal and ultimately the responsibility for that lies with the manager.
"We're on a dreadful run of form and this decision has been taken in order to give us the best chance of staying in League One.
"Geraint is as honest and professional a manager as you will find in football and it's unfortunate things have not worked out, but I thank him for his efforts and I wish him every success in the future."
Kevin Nugent will take charge of the O's for Monday's game at Southampton.
