Apologies if previously posted but I've never seen this before. From the excellent Pathe Archive, QPR v Sheff Utd in the FA Cup (4th Round?) from LR in 1923. Good quality - no sound. The earliest footage of us I've come across. www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=19836

Vic Gibbons first game was 1946 so that counts him out. And remember, this was when we played in Green and White hoops!!

Thanks Nodge. Actually I once did find this/post this. But who cares? It's great to see... I guess there was a QPR before Briatore came along

Ages ago I posted up a link to a you tube video that was simply old footage of the ground before all the renovations in the early eighties. It was set to moody classical music and was about 3 mins. long. I can't find it anywhere today. Does anyone know of it and have a link they could post, please? And nice one Nodge for that one, thanks.

Nodge, what a fantastic find. Im afraid it was before George goddard the scoring machine who scored 189 goaks goals from 1926
to 1932. His first year was the first year we wore blue and white hoops. He scored 189 in 6seasons, so average of 31.5 goals per season. Now back to Nodges. Pathe. That was 1923 and we wore green and white hoops.
try to scan that pathe again and see if I can name any players. Arthur Chandler was our great centre forward then, one pf the greatest in the 20s.

first of all seeing that cup match again and Springetts great saves keeping ius in. Marsh the greatest. Lazarus!!!.
Back to 1923, the only name I can secure is the captain tossing the coin was Jimmmy Birch who scored 120 goal inabout 11 seasons.
Played at Brammall lane we lost 1-0. Also finished last that year and had to apply for re-admittance. Dont know what procedure was but they took us back.
