The first ever F.A. Cup Final was played at London's Kennington Oval. Wanderers beat Royal Engineers 1-0.
16 March 1908
Wales 'keeper L.R. Roose was injured in the first half of their international against England at Wrexham. Full-back C. Morris took his place although, in the second half, England agreed to allowing the Welsh a substitute and D. Davies took over. England won 7-1 with goals from Woodward(3), Hilsdon(2), Wedlock and Windridge.

Manchester United signed Louis Page from Burnley. Began his career with Stoke immediately after the First War but after a couple of years joined Northampton Town where he started to make his name on the left wing. Burnley bought him in 1925 and in April 1926 he played his first game at centre-forward and scored six goals against Birmingham. He made seven appearances for England in 1927. After only a dozen games at Old Trafford he moved on to Port Vale. From 1919 to 1933 he scored 136 goals in 443 League matches. Went into management and was in charge of Swindon Town for a number of seasons.

Ernie Blenkinsop transferred from Sheffield Wednesday to Liverpool. From 1928 until 1933 he was England's left-back playing in 26 internationals and was regarded as one of the best in the position between the Wars. Began as a forward with Hull City and moved to Wednesday in 1923 where he won a Second Division medal and two League Championships in 1929 and 1930. After four years at Anfield he closed his career at Cardiff City in 1938. In 17 seasons of League football he played in 485 matches.
