VINNIE IS LEAVING
THE Vinnie Jones situation has been resolved and the former Welsh international
is leaving Rangers.
Chairman Chris Wright explains: "We’ve reached an agreement with Vinnie.
He’ll be leaving the payroll of the club by the end of the season.
It’s a mutually agreed, amicable settlement of Vinnie’s contract, which
will allow him to pursue other interests. His career probably lies outside football,
so it clearly doesn’t make any sense from both parties’ standpoints for him to continue
to be part of the QPR set-up and to be on the payroll."

VINNIE JOINS THE R'S
RANGERS are negotiating the £500,000 signing of Vinny Jones from Wimbledon as player-coach. The deal is subject to Jones completing a medical and agreeing personal terms.
Boss Ray Harford says:"We’ve been looking for someone to build up the spirit and the winning determination at Rangers. Vinny fits that category very well and we’re delighted to have him on board.
"I know what he carries, I know what he’s like and I know how important he can be in a club. We need leaders and we need people to raise the spirits to get the fighting qualities shining through the team. Vinny can do that for us.
"Vinny joins us as a player-coach. He wants to stay in the game after he has finished playing, so it is a good opportunity for him to get some way down the road with that."
VINNIE'S OVER THE MOON
VINNY JONES stands by for his Rangers debut at Huddersfield on Saturday and he’s already relishing his new role as player-coach at Rangers.
Vinny says:"I’m over the moon! I’m getting involved on the coaching side here and I’m just trying to put a smile on the lads’ faces and get them going. I hope to learn the trade from Ray Harford, although I’m fit enough to continue playing for the three and a half years of my contract here.
"It’s a dogfight at the bottom of this division but there are teams in a lot worse positions than us. We need two or three wins to pull clear. The most important thing is for our players to have self-belief. We’ll stay up this season and then we’ll see what we can do next year and the year after
VINNIE'S GREAT WELCOME
VINNIE JONES scored a great goal on his Rangers debut at Huddersfield and built up an instant rapport with the Rangers fans.
Vinnie started the afternoon by running over to psyche up the R’s supporters with a double-fisted salute just before the kick-off.
He said:"I just went to say hello. Where I come from, that’s polite! The fans were great and we could hear them all the way through. That geed me up, so hopefully that fantastic backing will continue from our supporters."
The goal featured an incredible piece of skill, where Vinnie juggled the ball over his shoulder and hooked home an athletic scissors kick.
"I’ve got that little Brazilian trick where you flick it over the full-back with one foot and smash it in the corner with the other," laughed Vinnie. "I think their keeper was stunned by my skills! I had a good knees-up with the fans behind the goal after that, but all that celebrating tired me out as I hadn't played for three weeks."
