TWTD Magilton Claiming £350,000 Thu 11th Mar 2010 09:11 Former boss Jim Magilton has issued a High Court writ against Town to try to recover £352,083.33 that he claims he is owed in lost earnings. Magilton, who was sacked by the Blues 11 months ago, revealed earlier in the week that he and the club have failed to come to a settlement regarding his contract which is due to end in June this year and that the matter is set to go to court. The Northern Irishman says Town were in breach of his contract and that he should have continued to receive his salary after being relieved of his duties in April last year. An alternative claim by the former midfielder for a figure of around £242,000 takes into consideration his seven-month spell as manager at QPR, which ended in December. www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=16142

Evening Star - Magilton sues Town TOM POTTER Last updated: 11/03/2010 09:10:00 FORMER Ipswich Town boss Jim Magilton is suing his old club for more than £350,000 in lost earnings following his dismissal last April. The Irishman has issued a High Court writ claiming he is owed nearly a year of unpaid wages for the period since being relieved of the role. Magilton says the club was in breach of a contract, signed when he took up the managerial post, which would have seen him employed at Portman Road until the end of May this year. London-based legal representatives of the former Town midfielder say their client should have received his basic salary for the period following termination of the contract. Magilton's salary for the unexpired portion of his contracted tenure amounts to £352,083.33. A lesser amount of around £242,000 makes up a second 'alternative' claim by Magilton, which takes into account his time spent as manager of QPR between June and December last year. The club's director of communications, Terry Baxter, last night said the issue was a personal matter between the club and a former employee, adding: “It is an active legal process and one that the club does not feel appropriate to comment further on.” Magilton spent seven years as an Ipswich Town player after moving from Sheffield Wednesday following a successful loan spell in 1999. The Belfast-born midfielder went on to be appointed manager following Joe Royle's departure ahead of the 2006-2007 season. The team's failure to reach the play-offs for a third consecutive year led to him being sacked on April 22, 2009. Six weeks later he took the vacant managerial position at Queens Park Rangers but left by mutual consent a year after losing the Ipswich job. www.eveningstar.co.uk/content/eveningstar/news/story.aspx?brand=ESTOnline&category=News&tBrand=ESTOnline&tCategory=xDefault&itemid=IPED10%20Mar%202010%2023%3A17%3A32%3A280

I understand that Gianni, sorry I mean Ganaka, has said that instead of retuning the interest free loan of 148000 pound to the club he is prepared to give it to Jim Magiliton.

It would be nice to give it to his good friend Antonio Caliendo who lost so much (and is still owed)

Caliendo is the guy that "saved" QPR not Paladini. I think that other site has backed the wrong horse.
