Updated subject title from just "Analysis of a Rumour"![Referring to this rumour: "Mittal Takeover Today?" qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=11179 ] Scott of course knows where the rumour came from. So the choices: Either Scott made it up Or someone he believed passed it on to him to spread Now assuming Scott's motives were genuine: He believed the rumour, so the source must have been reputable. Scott says not Paladini So who else: Bhatia? Briatore? Russell? Ifshan? Media Department? And what's the motivation for passing this rumour? Might get people diverted briefly. But ultimately it's going to piss people off more. I don't think it's to get more people visiting his tweets And it's not like that other guy who makes things up to bring people to his site.

Trust me, I did not make it up and yes, i believed it. Pure and simple the motivation was to spread "wishful thoughts" pre tomorrow. Instead they've succeeded in pishing a lot of people off I would say. Like I said, we coat off their communication but maybe they arent as bad at it as we thought  Re my tweets..not sure you really want to read them lol. As most have been about relationship issues of late! Also want to point out that the bloke (SM) who started this rumour did so in very good faith and IMHO has been taken advantage of somewhat rotten. Its nothing short of disgusting IMHO |

Well it's a very limited universe of people who have this interest: It's Paladini and his people. Briatore and his people, and I guess Ecclestone and his people. And finally, Bhatia, Mittal and their people.
No other club official, I'd imagine would do something like this, unless it was at the directive of one of these people

I expect if we lose it will kick off big time tomorrow now.
Expect a heck of a lot of anti board chanting, anti paladini chanting and anti flavio chanting at the VERY least.
At the last game they had a small army of stewards...tomorrow i reckon they'd be wise to hire a small army.

What I don't get, is that we see these sorts of rumours (leaks) to gauge opinion quite often, and then it seems whatever the concensus of opinion is - the opposite is done.

You say GP said Briatore isn't leaving; is HE? Do you think their words are worth taking after all of this?
...QPR is like a realistic version of The Thick of It (great show!), only unfunny.
Aren't you feeling part of it?
And it's hard to believe in your suggested strategy of the "sources": are you saying that they will throw in a rumour every week (day?) just to stop people protesting? Come on...

If someone at the club or close to it gave me any inside info my first thought would be, why is he/she telling me this? Am i that important, is this person my close friend?
I have also noticed that certian individual/s,ones supposedly in the know then give credence by adding their bit to it, so as not to appear that they don't know anything, bigging themselves up if you like.

Its just total boll..ks and has nothing to do with being a true rangers fan! I came on to this site so I could vent some of my angry as to the way my beloved club has been run but after reading all the b,s ive come off the site feeling more angry! I say tomorrow we as one voice protest against every single board member, win , lose or draw! Ive said this before its time to re-claim our club! I dont know if I can be bothered now to post again!

Regardless of past posts, for the purposes of argument: let's assume that Scott was passing on (and believed) what he was told.
So someone big at the club was lying (Briatore) - although I thought Briatore and Scott were not so warm!
So what's the motive of this club lie: I don't see how they benefit froma momentary item
