Lita has scored seven goals in 17 appearances for the Canaries since moving to Carrow Road at the start of October.
He is due to return to Reading later this week and Roeder has previously doubted his prospects of hanging on to the former England Under 21 international.
The 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of the campaign and Roeder wondered whether Reading would look to sell Lita in the January transfer window.
Working hard However, the under-fire Norwich boss has confirmed he is working hard in a bid to persuade the Royals to allow Lita to stay at the club.
"We want Leroy to stay and we are working hard to make that happen," said Roeder.
"We would like to extend the deal to a half-season loan.
"Reading know that and Leroy has said he would very much like to stay."
