QPR: Culkin, Forbes, Padula, Palmer, Shi.ttu, Thomson, Daly, Bircham, Griffiths, Furlong, Gallen. Subs: Day, Doudou, Plummer, Bean, Angell.
BBC - Feb 2003 Northampton 1-1 QPR
Goalkeeper Glyn Thompson produced a string of crucial saves to help Northampton collect their first point at Sixfields since late November.
The Cobblers also ended a 77-day wait for a Sixfields goal thanks to Brent Rahim's first-half opener.
Rahim volleyed the ball home from 10 yards in the 16th minute after Marco Gabbiadini had pulled the ball back.
Kevin Gallen should have equalised for Rangers after being sent clear in the 36th minute but his shot was just off target.
Thompson stole the show in the second half, saving bravely at Paul Furlong`s feet before the Rangers striker equalised on the hour-mark after being sent free by Steve Palmer.
Thompson produced three more crucial saves, twice denying Gallen and Furlong to keep Northampton level.
Gabbiadini almost stole it for the Cobblers when his header was cleared off the line with goalkeeper Nick Culkin well beaten.
Northampton: Thompson, Gill, Carruthers, Reid, Hope, Asamoah, Johnson, Rahim, Trollope, McGregor, Gabbiadini. Subs: Harsley, Abbey, Burgess, Lincoln, Morison.

Fenwick rues flashpoint By Jon Ryan12:01AM GMT 10 Feb 2003Comment Northampton (1) 1 QPR (0) 1
Terry Fenwick felt hard done by after relegation-threatened Northampton failed to register their first win under his management. The home side, in their fifth match under Fenwick, were leading when QPR captain Steve Palmer clashed with Marco Gabbiadini after an hour, leaving the striker on the ground. Palmer then immediately supplied a through-ball to Paul Furlong, who finished confidently past Glyn Thompson. "I thought it was a shocking decision," Fenwick said of the Palmer-Gabbiadini incident. "All afternoon the away fans have got on the referee's back and I think he showed a bit of weakness and played on. It was an awful decision that cost us dearly." In fairness to the Rangers fans and the referee, Gabbiadini had been making a habit of going lame prior to the incident with Palmer. RELATED ARTICLES Nationwide League Division Two 08 Feb 2003
He had also been involved in the Northampton goal after 15 minutes. Having sneaked in behind the visiting defence, he got to the bye-line and cut the ball back for Trinidad and Tobago international Brent Rahim to finish superbly with a first-time volley into the roof of the net. "A terrific goal right off the training ground," was Fenwick's opinion of Northampton's first goal at home since November. Ian Holloway, his opposite number, felt it would have been an unjust winner. "I think we had the better chances," Holloway said. "It isn't a very friendly place to come but the lads managed to focus in the second half and should have secured the three points." Furlong, strike partner Kevin Gallen and defender Danny shiteeeeeetu all missed good chances, but QPR, in the play-off pack, were also grateful for a goal-line clearance by Marcus Bean from a Gabbiadini header
