WYCOMBE are set to sign Gareth Ainsworth on a permanent deal after the midfielder left QPR.

The 36-year-old spent a stint on loan at Adams Park earlier this season before returning to Loftus Road through injury.

But Gary Waddock is poised to land the former Cardiff City flyer in a bid to boost Wycombe's survival hopes.

My thoughts too. Their board thought a lot of Waddock and if he had taken gareth there, they could have formed a good team and really helped the Shots.
