Lecce have a crucial match coming up against fellow relegation-threatened side Bologna, as the Salentini lie just one point behind the Rossoblu going into the game on Sunday. Coach Luigi De Canio discussed the match he described as a 'play-off'.
"The referee? They are all experts," claimed The former Queens Park Rangers tactician on Radio Kiss Kiss. "I hope the challenge against Bologna is directed by someone quiet and peaceful and that there is no influence by the referee on the match."
Meanwhile, the Salentini are the joint-worst defensive side in Serie A along with Bologna, conceding 60 goals.
"We must improve defensively, trying to eliminate the lapses that sometimes result in us suffering goals," he continued.
"It may seem like we have amnesia, but I am confident in the final matches the team will give their best in the defensive department."
The two sides both currently reside in the relegation zone.
